The Milwaukee 2 1/2 inch stainless steel universal fit diamond grit segment boot designed oscillating tool blade is advertised as lasting 5 times longer then their carbide grit blades, and I thank it is really true. After finishing removing the grout in my bathroom area , the tool didn’t show any signs of wear. After having used a carbide tool on the same area several years ago, it was completely wore out. Also the tool was thin enough to fit in the harrow joints. It is also compatible to fit most oscillating motors.

Milwaukee 2-1/2 in. Stainless Steel Universal Fit Diamond Grit Segment Boot Oscillating Multi-Tool Blade (1-Piece). This Milwaukee blade has a diamond grit boot design blade for all oscillating tools. The package also includes an adaptor for Dremel Models MM45 and MM50 oscillators. Diamond grit blades offer a much longer life and is advertised by Milwaukee as lasting 5 times longer than a normal blade. The boot design allows for easier access to corners for digging out the grout without damaging the grout on the adjoining wall. I find these oscillating blades tools are much easier to accurately remove grout without damaging or scratching the tile when compared to the grout removal blades for reciprocating saws. The faster speed and the long stoke of a reciprocating saw plus the weight of the saws typically two to three time the weight, makes a simple grout removal job difficult. When the job involves small or thinner grout lines the smaller oscillating tools really stand out. This oscillating blade works great for sanded or non-sanded grout. After about 48 inches or grout removal the blades still looked band new.

If you need to remove grout from a floor or wall this is the best tool I have found to get the job done. When we moved into our fifty year old townhouse it had the original tile floors in the powder room and bathroom. As a temporary fix until I could get the floors re-tiled. I removed the old grout and re-did it. I experimented with re-doing the grout using a lot of methods but this tool made the shortest work of a nasty job. It eats through old and new grout cleanly and leaves a nice rough surface that takes and holds new grout. It’s well worth the price.

WOW! This really works! I used this to cut the grout around a broken tile I needed to replace and it ate through the grout with no problems! The blade is shaped in a partial crescent mood shape which helps you get into corners (think corners of a tiled shower, for instance). I was bale to maintain good control over the blade and it didn’t ‘go crazy’ on me like some oscillating tool blades do. Start on low speed to set an initial cut and then the blade will seat in that cut to finish tearing out the grout. I did a 12×12 tile’s grout and the blade held with no problems. I have used this blade to also make some very delicate cuts to tile, though it is not intended for that. If you do tile or demo work, get this blade and keep it on hand. Much better than those awful grout removal tools we’re all used to. Compatible with all major oscillating tools.

Acquired this segment blade to remove damaged grout from the tile floor of my balcony that had failed due to water saturation before re-grouting with higher quality pool tile grout. The universal fit blade quickly and easily installed on my Ryobi Multi Tool using the tool’s adapter with the “B” side out. The 2.5 inch segment blade was long enough to effectively remove damaged grout the entire depth of the tile. The tool and blade were easy to handle removing the damaged grout in a fraction of the time it would take using a manual tool. I have not noticed any deterioration of the blade but have only used it on one project so far. Highly recommend the blade based on its utility and value.
