Amazing how it cuts the dust. It clicks right on just like the guard and can be clocked to the position you need. The only thing that is odd is if you are left handed becaus the dust collection port is facing outward. The only improvement I see for this is to have the port swivel so it can accommodate dust collection at various angles instead of a fixed point since there will be suction from a vacuum. That said, depth settings are great though have and the trace line since you cannot see the blade. Every grinder with a masonry blade should have this.

Nice, if only it fit.How I wanted such an accessory for my grinder. If it fits your’s, it’s probably great. But my Milwaukee model #6156-20 had a larger ring pattern, even though it’s made for 5” grinders. Could find no list of compatible tools, so took a chance. Returned and disappointed.

Controlling dust isn’t just a good idea for saving time on cleanup and protecting your health, it’s also something professionals need to worry about with the new OSHA regulations.Mounts easily to my Milwaukee angle grinder (6141-30) which has the spring type shroud attachment mechanism. Is easy to adjust depth of cut and does cut down on the dust when used with a shop vac. It’s also easy to change blades without removing the shroud. There’s a notch on the metal base that helps you align your cut. I hope they come out with an accessory metal base that has guides that make it easy to follow a mortar line. Something that would make this easier to use when tuck pointing since Milwaukee doesn’t seem to have that type of attachment yet. Can still be used for grinding out the mortar before tuck pointing but would make it easier with guides that follow the groove. Still a good accessory to cut down on dust with a Milwaukee angle grinder.

Hooked up a vac hose and basically eliminates dust. Used to cut plaster walls to ease in removing. This thing should be higher rated, but some don’t seem to verify it will fit on their grinder and rate it low because of it. I’m using it on a M18 Fuel Grinder with this. Snaps on/off easily like the included guard. Just verify you have the correct grinder before purchasing.

When I got this I didn’t realize this shroud was intended to use as a shroud for a grinder. Good thing I plan on using a grinder to make concrete counter tops for my kitchen and in two bathrooms. I’m curious to see if this will work well with a wet grinder as well. It would be nice to direct wet dust in a specific direction and I hope it will help me keep dry as well.

The Milwaukee Cutting Dust Shroud is an excellent tool for which it was designed. It works on Milwaukee’s AC and DC grinders and hooks up easily to Milwaukee’s dust extractor. It is made of quality materials and should last with proper care. It is compliant for the new OSHA rules for crystalline silica dust that came out recently. It attaches fast and is secure.

Looks like it mught fit the 2783 based on the photo on the box Box states that it withs with ‘most small angle grinders’. They must have changed the shroud attachment pattern from the 2780 to the 2783, because the box does include a picture of the 2783 on it. (The 2780/2781 have a black button to hold the spindle from spinning, the 2783 has a red button).
