This is an amazing hole saw and will makes quick work of many materials except . . . it does not come with its own arbor, and becomes a nuisance for someone assuming it to be ready-to-use. Now, once you do attain one of these arbors, then you’ll be pleased with the performance of this hole saw. It does indeed cut very clean and relatively quick. It has a maximum depth of exactly 1 inch, so consider that before buying. Though a lot of steel is removed from this saw to account for excess weight, it is STILL quite heavy, and if using a weaker drill, it may put lots of extra strain and fry the motor. It would be nice if these were made of aluminum (or at least partially), but I assume that if someone is to buy one of these, they would already have something more powerful and able to handle such a load. The compatible arbors are 49-56-7240, 49-56-7250, 49-56-7040, 49-56-7055, 49-56-9100, 49-56-7140, or 49-56-7150. However, the last two I was not able to find online and are perhaps no longer made. Nonetheless, you still have 5 different arbors to choose from depending on chuck size, traditional or quick-lock, etc. I believe the pilot bits are all the same. I would advise you to choose the most versatile arbor that will work with as many hole saws as possible (so as to avoid this problem the second time around). They all seem to be directly interchangeable however, but I could be wrong.

Great for drilling plaster and drywall, bit has held up well and creates a neat cut, perfect for 7 inch round supply heat run diffusers.

This hole saw was used for a ceiling recessed lighting installation which was part of a master bedroom remodel. There were only four holes to punch out but each was a min. 1” thick of plaster and button board. The bit gave a sharp edge 5 3/8” hole with little effort, no wobble, and no clogging.

I purchased this cause it was the only hole saw I could find this size that might be able to go through two layers of heavy duty concrete board. I was not disappointed as it workers very well. Began to be worn out after my 6th hole that also had steel mesh. Cut though it all. Would recommend!

The hole saw worked beautifully. It was the perfect size for the 6” cans. I still have to find out how easy it cuts wood.

After growing tired of my toothed Hole Saw gouging my dry wall, I thought I would try this. The first time I used it I was unprepared for it’s gripping power on drywall and the drill nearly took my arm off. After adding a side handle to my drill it was much easier to work with and the hole was gone in seconds. Super smooth and the perfect fit for 6-inch canless recessed LED’s. Highly recommend.

Worked wonderfully to cut drywall holes for canned lights. Much easier to control than regular hole saw.Only used on eight holes so cannot comment on longevity but seems pretty quality.

Didn’t come with an arbor but I had one from an old lockset saw I had on hand. I’ve only made 4 test cuts so far but those cut fast and clean and make a perfect sized hole for my 6″ canless recessed lights. Only addition I’d like to see would be a plastic dust shield to keep my face clean.

I wanted to vent a portable AC out in a windowless garage but had to cut through a stucco wall that was 3/4″ thick with wire mesh. This carbide hole saw cut through the wall with ease and took about 60 seconds. The cut was very smooth and clean. It was also the perfect size opening for the Speedi-Product 5″ round galvanized wall vent with spring return damper. This wall vent was also perfectly sized for my PAC wall vent. So if you need to cut a 5 3/8″ hole in a stucco wall – you need this hole saw.

Would be better if you didn’t have to purchase the arbor separately.

I was really pleased with the saw better than the other brands that I had bought before the Milwaukee exceeded my expectations

Hello, I’m writing today about the Milwaukee 6 7/8″ recessed light hole saw. This hole saw worked very well and is very easy to use. I recommend that before you completely cut the entire circle that you put a swivel screw driver in the pilot hole and turn it around a few times to make sure there is nothing in the path of the hole saw. And be prepared to catch all the sheetrock dust.

Worked like a charm on some stucco.
