This doesn’t come with the arbor. Be prepared to spend an extra $25 if don’t already have the arbor. I am returning it because I found the whole kit (saw, arbor, AND dust shield) at another big hardware store.

I cut 11 holes down through 1/4 wood panel ceiling followed by 1/2” dry wall ceiling. The drill cut through the wood and knifed through the dry wall. The original ceiling was wood paneling. It was nailed to 1×4 furring strips. In many of the hole locations drill had to cut through the furring.

I’ve used this hole saw on stucco and plywood. The grit makes it work smoother than a toothed hole saw so it doesn’t catch and tear up the work. When using it there is a lot of dust so the use of goggles, mask and a shop vac is a smart way to protect yourself. There are so many sizes of can lights nowadays it is good to keep as many sizes as you can so this is a great addition to any collection.

The hole saw worked beautifully. It was the perfect size for the 6” cans. I still have to find out how easy it cuts wood.

Worked great on USG Cheyenne tiles. Used it on 30+ tiles. I liked that it had the cutting edge all the way around as opposed to only four small cutters as on some other brands.
