I purchased this for installing 4-6″ canless lights in my basement and it worked great. I dont know why so many people are whining about it not doing a good job. This is NOT a hole saw, its a light duty tool that does a great job if you’re not a caveman. Try a little finesse people. my first time using it, I did have it grab and jerk the drill. The key is to stay as perfectly square to the drywall as possible and be gentle with it.

My only regret with this tool is not buying it sooner. It cut a nice clean hole for a new closet light fixture. The container caught almost all the dust, meaning I didn’t have to spend a lot of time emptying and restocking the clothes in the closet.

great

Works well and is adjustable. Blade does require replacement after you drill about 10 holes.

I’m seeing a ton of reviews on here about people using it to cut things other than drywall. Its for DRYWALL PEOPLE! Of course it failed cutting through wood and metal and anything else you can think of that isn’t DRYWALL!! As long as your drill can handle it and you go slow and smooth you will be just dandy cutting holes in DRYWALL!! I’ve completed several remodel jobs with no issue. Great tool for DRYWALL!

I cut 45, 4 inch holes for LED puck lights and each hole was clean and fast and the dust container held the dust and degree fine. It took about 30-45 minutes and that includes moving a ladder around. It was fast and the holes so clean!A couple tips, have a damp rag close by and wipe the blades when they have a buildup of paint, drywall, etc. And they’ll keep cutting clean holes. Keep the dust cover pressed against the ceiling for a few seconds after cutting and the dust will settle. I am finishing the basement. I used a laser level and marked spots on the floor where I would want to cut holes in the ceiling for lights. I then went back and put the laser on the mark of the floor and marked the ceiling and started cutting. I couldn’t be happier with the result.

Great little tool for those odd-sized fixtures & any ductwork holes in drywall. Not as good as a real, proper sized hole saw but it gets the job done & takes up much less space in my tool bag. Would buy again.

Does exactly what it says! Dead simple to assemble and use, didn’t even read instructions. Only used once so far, and have another one to go. But I am very very pleased. Cuts a perfectly round hole in whatever dimension you want. Keeps all the dust and yuck out of your face. Didn’t love the price, but loved the result.

I replaced light fixtures above the bathroom sink and added new recessed lights to the shower. Using this tool for a preexisting hole to make it bigger was extremely difficult but it can be done but I highly recommend not trying as it can give you more work than desired. When I cut new holes I learned that my walls had excessively thick layers of paint. The paint made it difficult for the blades to cut through evenly. I imagine if you were cutting holes through fresh drywall it will work very smoothly. The tool needs to have better support for the axis of the cut. I found that if you do not have a perfectly steady directional push you can lean the drill to one side which will cause the blades to cut unevenly resulting in it skipping or jumping around This can add more work than desired. Aside from that I give 3 stars because it worked but needs a little improvement.

It works, the cup worked fairly well at capturing drywall dust when. Cutting from a ceiling. Wouldn’t use it on much more than drywall. Used it to cut luan and it struggled.

THE CUTTER IT SELF WORKS GREAT, BUT THE PLASTIC DUST COLLECTOR BROKE THE SECOND TIME WE USED IT. I HAVE NOW BEEN TRYING FOR MONTHS TO TRY AND FIND THE DUST CUP ITSELF TO BUY BUT HAVE HAD NO LUCK. EVEN HAVE EMAILED MILWAUKEE A COUPLE OF TIMES WITH NO REPLT.

This tool worked great. I was installing several different recessed led lights and this was able to cut a hole for each one and minimize the mess from overhead cuts.
