I’ve had the 28 volt Milwaukee shop vac for 5 years. It’s a washable filter but finally was needing replacement. Great shop vac and great filter.

Great for dry use only! I too, was misled by the advertising. After using it to do suck up water I found the element no longer works well. Retained moisture and the next time I used it for dry materials it is now forever clogged. Will have to replace with a new one, which they do not stock in store. This is ludicrous! They stock filters for all other shop vacs, why not this one?

This is a pretty large HEPA filter as HEPA filters go. Most of the ones you find in vacuum cleaners are too small to be effective. And $20 for a HEPA filter is cheap. Mine came with the Milwaukee job-site wet vac, which I find to be very useful for the work I do.My issue with this filter is in the false advertising that it “does not have to be changed between wet and dry use.” However the instruction manual says to remove the filter for wet vacuuming. Furthermore, I found that just a few drops of liquid can ruin the filter and stop air flow. Customer Service at Milwaukee confirms this and sent me a replacement filter.Of course, I would recommend it to a friend because you have no other choice if you own the associated Milwaukee M18 wet vac.Here is a little secret I discovered. If you buy the aftermarket extensions and floor attachments available at most hardware stores, the Milwaukee M18, portable, wet, vacuum cleaner blows the doors of the Dyson V11 animal, my wife bought for almost twice the price.
