The Milwaukee Multi-Tool Depth Stop adapter works great controlling the depth of a plunge cut while using the Milwaukee multi-tool. The depth stop is designed for both the M18 and M12 multi-tool. You have to remove the cutting blade to install the depth stop. Once the cutting blade is removed, just loosen the screw so the clamp ring can open up enough to slip over the clamping surface on the multi-tool. Be careful not to lose the clamp nut if you loosen the clamp completely. The first time I used the depth stop tool the clamp nut fell out and I had to look for it and reinstall it to tighten the clamp. The depth stop is a slip fit and can be adjusted to control the depth of the plunge cut. My pictures show a top view and side view with the depth stop set at 5/8 inch for type X fireproof drywall. This Depth Stop adapter will be handy for future work where I don’t want ruin unseen items behind the cutting surface.
