This drill is amazing. I went through 2 other drills before this one. The first one failed after 2 hours (1 3/4″ rated). It stopped hammering. The second drill (2 1/8″ rated) overheated after 2 holes. So you would have to let it sit for 1/2 hour between holes. I’m drilling 1.5″ holes into granite, 18″ deep. Lots of them. The Milwaukee (2″ rated) will drill all day long. It is the lowest tech of all the other drills. It isn’t brushless, it isn’t AC motor, it isn’t inverter, it isn’t anti-vibration, it isn’t lots of stuff. But what it is, is simply a big powerful, well built tool that gets the job done. The other drills I used were very smooth when they were working, but they did not let me get the job done. The Milwaukee would suck if you were required to lift it while using it. It’s heavy, It’s big. The case is nice and functional. Stuff I would have Milwaukee change… Include more screw in handles. It would be nice to have three handles instead of the ONE included. You need to move your position as you drill. It is just not convenient to stop drilling, unscrew the handle, then screw it into the next spot then continue.

Amazing tool. Needed it as I am drilling holes into rock, and the other tools i have tired basically did not work. Upon receiving this tool, I was surprised how effortlessly it made the job. What used to take 10 minutes per hole 3/4″ hole, now takes less than a minute.

When it destroyed the concrete job I was happy so I put it to task on solid rock and it did not disappoint, great buy.

Typical good quality for Milwaukee, good weight and handling.Had to return the first one we ordered because the motor was sporadic in its power delivery. Don’t know what that was about.Second one seems to be fine so far.

As an electrical contractor, this drill works awesome as a ground rod driver and also a digging machine with the clay spade. It also works great as a concrete breaker. I haven’t used it a whole lot to drill holes, but the times I have it’s worked great. I would definitely purchase again.

I spent a couple of days fighting with some ground rods. Nevada ground is dry and hard; when I finally broke down and get the rotary hammer the job was done in a matter of minutes. It’s well made and works great.
