I purchased this drill to replace my older battery powered hammer drill and after experiencing frustration with limited battery life and a lack of power in the old drill I decided on a corded model. This is a great high quality tool that delivers all the power anyone could want. So far I have not found any significant limitation by using a power cord over my old battery powered drill. My only reservation is the weight but with the increase in power I can’t complain over much. Milwaukee makes some of the best tools I have ever used.

I’ve held off doing a review for this drill until I put it through some of the projects I had planned for the spring/summer. Now that I’ve completed some of them I can say that the 8 Amp Milwaukee hammer drill is fantasic. Like many people, I also own a cordless Craftsman drill/driver for smaller projects. But the small one isn’t suited for heavier duty. I’ve used the Milwaukee hammer drill to drill Tapcons into concrete, as well as drilling into wood, metal, masonry/mortar. I haven’t come across anything that this drill can’t handle yet, and with great ease. Even the concrete drilling went surprisingly smoothly and quickly. This is from a new home owner who doesn’t have a lot of experience with power tools. If I can use this sucessfully, you can too. Just do your research, know how to use the tool properly & safely, and this drill will do well for you.

I tried the drill the next day after I got it, worked just like I expected it to work. After all it is a MILWAUKEE ,the only drawback was the chuck worked loose once,(I might not have not have tightened it up enough), after tightening up it worked great on the remainder of the holes in the concrete for the rebar . Great drill for the price!

As owner of 16 properties, we needed a new drill. Went to the store, picked up the options and thought the Milwaukee drill was built solid.Used it a few days later. Had tons of power. Long cord.We’ll see how the F/R trigger and clutch hold up.Can’t go wrong for less than $100.00 – couldn’t repair the old one for the cost of a new one.

This drill has plenty of power for a DIY homeowner. I like the two-finger trigger switch and the long power cord. The mounting system for the auxiliary handle seems a little cheesy, but so far it’s holding up.
