Milwaukee’s 1/2 Inch Magnum Hammer Drill outperforms all other brands that I have tried including Dewalt, Makita, etc. This drill has very little vibration making it very comfortable to use without sacrificing power. Drill also does not overheat with extended use. Milwaukee Magnums drill only setting, variable speed trigger, and reverse switch which makes it a very versatile power tool for both heavy and lighter applications.

I bought this hammer drill for a summer of deck building. Initially when deciding which one to buy I was unsure which hammer drill to purchase as there a number of good choices, Dewalt, Bosch, Hilti, etc.. I chose the Milwakee as I have had good experiences with thier tools in the past and for the price compared to some of the others this one seemed like a good deal. This tool did not dissapoint, we used it all summer without a problem. The drill never had a problem drilling holes for the lags and I would recommend this drill to anyone who needs a good hammer drill.

Bought this drill to replace my old workhorse, which was a 1984 AEG hammer drill- which by the way, is part for part, exactly the same drill. Even takes my old right angle adapter. I have used this drill for extensive concrete work for residential construction. When installing almost 100 circuits in a residence, with the right angle adapter, for the wire runs, I could quickly and easily drill 2″ holes, 3″ from the top of the joist and 3″ from the support wall, in 2×10’s on 12″ spacing. I’m now relying more on the M18 Concrete drill, but when I need the power, and AC is available, this is my goto concrete and big hole drill. Great for mixing drywall mud and all types of concrete anchor dilling. BTW, if you use GRK Caliburn concrete screws, wich you can screw in or out numerous times, and still leave a concrete hole that remains good and solid, you’ll never touch a Tapcon again. This drill and GRK Caliburn concrete screws – are a match made in heaven.

I’m not a contractor but I am a weekend warrior. I use my hammer drill for everything from drilling into wood and concrete to mixing mud for drywall. I burned up my craftsman hammer drill mixing mud, the motor was a 6 amp and drill was a single speed afair, the mud was simply too heavy for the motor. This Milwaukee drill has no such problems. Dual speed and a 9 AMP motor means this drill can take a lot of abuse – and mine has. The VBS vibration dampening system works especially well. Drilling into concrete is much less irritating with the control this drill exhibts, so you can drill longer without fatigue from the constant hammering. If you pick up a hammer drill more than 2 or 3 times a year, or are looking for a versatile 1/2 drill that can cover a lot of different tasks, this drill is for you and well worth the extra money spent.
