I am glad I bought this hammer drill. It does what it says it will do without any hassle. Be sure to get SDS drill bits before you leave the store. I assumed the drill would take ordinary bits, but it requires a specific type, again, SDS style drill bits.

Milwaukee has been and still remains a good company to by drills, battery drills etc. This is a good hammer drill. I expect it to last for many years.

This hammer drill is great! I am currently using it in the basement for a remodel project and all I can say is EXCELLENT HAMMER DRILL. I am drilling through concrete block with ease. Goes quickly right in without any fatigue afterwards. Very well worth the money. I am a do-it- yourselfer without the do-it-yourself basic tools. My choice is contractor grade Milwaukee all the way.

I bought this drill to bore 40 1 inch diameter holes, 3 inches deep, in medium density pine. I used a 1 inch diameter “paddle” drill bit, which is a flat bit with a sharp point, to drill the holes.Initially, as directed by the user manual, I put the drill into what was supposed to be “drill mode” (not “hammer drill mode”). Unfortunately, while I was drilling each and every hole, the paddle drill bit became loose in the chuck. When I checked the reviews on the internet, I discovered that quite a few people were having exactly the same problem, which they described as “chuck slippage”.Before reading John’s review, I called Milwaukee technical service and asked them if chuck slippage was a problem for this particular drill. They said no.After reading John’s review, however, I called Milwaukee technical service a second time, to verify what John stated in his review – namely, that THE USER MANUAL IS WRONG when it describes how to put the drill into “drill mode” vs “hammer drill mode”.What the manual should have said is this: When the drill bit symbol is showing, the drill is in “drill mode”, and when the hammer symbol is showing, the drill is in “hammer drill mode”. THE MANUAL STATES THE OPPOSITE OF THIS, WHICH IS COMPLETELY WRONG!Since I was not using a hammer drill bit (which has a special non-slip shank), it’s not surprising that the paddle drill bit slipped in the chuck when the drill was inadvertently being operated in “hammer drill mode”. Thus, when I used the same paddle drill bit in “drill mode”, there was no longer any chuck slippage. To be safe, I’m waiting for some hammer drill bits to arrive, so that I can also verify that the hammer drill bits will not slip in the chuck when they are being used in hammer drill mode.Great tool, lousy documentation!

Has more then enough power for my home. I have used it on my garage floor to put drop anchors for chains to secure all my equipment and tools. Drilled a hole from inside the house to the outside for speaker and cable tv.

The drill is well built and delivers a lot of power. Glad I purchased this specific model.

The chuck is poorly constructed. It routinely becomes loose around the bit and I have to stop work and tighten it again. I do not recommend this tool.

After renting one several times I decided to purchase this model. I couldn’t be happier this drill went thru concrete like a hot knife in butter. It literally took me less time to drill 4 holes compared to the rental drill use ing the same bit.

Great drill, except for the chuck. Seemed to loosen in hammer mode. Kind of frustrating. Too feels quality. I own many Milwaukee tools.

the depth guide broke on the first day. should be built with properties more durable.

In short is the best drill I ever owned. Powerful, fast, and it just keeps up you. Any drilling (concrete, wood, metal) it goes through anything, like a hot knife on butter. Highly recommended.

Needed this to drill through a bunch of steel plates and it did the job with ease

I had to drill into some very old highly cured concrete. 18 volt cordless and standard 3/8″ corded drill didn’t make a dent. It took me less than 15 minutes to drill 20 plus holes.

Good drill for medium duty, non for continuous use.

Got this for a Valentines day / Birthday Gift. Love it. Works great. Cuts thru concrete like it was butter. Bought the Bits from Milwaukee for the drill for $17 and change on-line. They are great deal and work great with the Hammer/Drill. recommend this to everybody.

After burning up a very nice 18V Milwaukee Cordless drill trying to drill 2″ holes in some 2×6’s I decided it was time to step up and get a real work horse. This 9A Hammer drill has all the power i need to put a 4″ hole saw through anything with power to spare. I’ve used to to drill holes in a concrete slab, mix concrete and punch holes in wood for plumbing. The gearbox is solid and the hammer feature will shake your house when drilling in slab. The only drawback is that its kinda long and heavy so its awkward to handle…but the raw power is worth the heft.

The drill worked better than expected. Was pleasently surprised.
