The Milwaukee 5 in. Random Orbit Sander features variable speeds of 7000-12,000 OPM, so you can match the speed to the application. Its 3 Amp permanent magnet motor produces dependable speed and power. Use this sander to achieve a fine, swirl-free finish on anything on which you’re working. For maximum compatibility the universal hose adaptor allows for connections from all vacuum hose sizes. The plastic dust canister with filter provides efficient dust collection and increased durability.

This is the first sanding unit, I got it mainly because of what I read on reviews at the time. I’ve been happy with it so far, it certainly leaves the wood looking nice. The built in dust collecting box is pretty bad, and has a tendency to fall out and is a pain to remove. Much better with a shop vac of some kind. I bought it on sale, which was what I would consider a decent price.

The pad hooks get stuck to the bag and mess up the bag fabric. The dust collector is not very user friendly when removing and putting back on. But the sander works well. Did not come with the hose adapter as shown in the image.

Home Depot needs to sell this one in the store again. I ordered it online. One of the big differences is the on/off switch. This sander has a much more heavy duty switch compared to the other sanders on the market. Also, this dust collector filter is easy to clean.

Great sander. replaced my old DeWalt. Vacuum hose fits just right. Variable speed is a really good feature. Not as aggressive at low speed as at higher speeds, so you don’t remove as much stock. Really worth the money. When I replace a tool I always go with a Milwaukee, if they make one.
