Yowsa! This tool bites! I grabbed some 3/4″ rod and cut a slot in the end lickety-split. Took an old machete out of the woods and got a good edge on it in a few minutes. It also feels good. Nice texture on the industrial plastic. Real sleek sexy body shape. Rubberized side-handle. Works good in the hands. Has more power than I can use. Won’t slow down on my biggest work. I am unable to test the overload cutout until I get a lot bigger steel than I have on hand. Very functional guard looks like it would protect from wheel fragments, and locks in several positions, or removes quickly for sanding. Not an afterthought. Small quibbles. It says “tool free” but comes with a pin-wrench, and I needed this to get the nub off after hard grinding. It does of course have the spindle-lock so you do not need a back wrench. My guard fits very snug and a bit hard to turn to different positions. And this product does not include a bag, a useful thing for non-industry workers, and available with another brand’s angle-grinder (at higher product price). I’ve been angle-grinding for 35+ years, with my father-in-law’s antique 8″ grinder, probably made in 1948. Improved motor and housing materials makes a real difference. This new Milwaukee is half the size and weight, much easier to hold, and does just as much work or more.

This “13 Amp 5 in. Small Angle Grinder with Trigger Grip” is by far the best grinder I have used to date. The anti vibration handle is comfortable and ergonomic. The quick adjustable guard does just that, adjusts quickly and easily.While this grinder is most definitely the most comfortable I have used, I do have one recommendation for improvement, it needs a trigger lock for extended time use. Still, overall the best!

Good ergonomics makes this grinder a pleasure to use. I have used to to cut steel angle with an appropriate cutting wheel (not included) and it makes for fast and accurate cuts.Overall noise is reasonable for such a powerful tool and the quality of construction and design is what I have come to expect from Milwaukee Tools. Many jobs that I would have previously done with my metal cutting band saw I will now do with this hand tool and save a lot of time.
