I have had this grinder for about a year. It works well, but I find that I can turn it off accidentally due to the placement of the switch if I am using it one handed. I also have a Bosch grinder that I bought around the same time. I find this one is a little louder than the Bosch.I like the tool less positioning of the guard this Milwaukee has as other grinders require a tool. I use this one exclusively for cut off wheels because the guard can be easily moved with a press of a switch. Overall it seems like a quality tool, but the position of the switch does mess with me when I use it one handed.

In addition to my previous review, I want to say that there are two designs of grinders with respect to the lateral handle: Those like Bosch and most makitas that place the handle ANGLED to improve ergonomics, and this one which places the handle at precisely 90° to the body, and this is quite practical if you get an inexpensive hinged base that converts small hand grinders into extremelly helpful small Miter saw, that uses the threaded holes where the grinder uses to attach the side halndle as a convenient place to attach the grinder to the swiveling attachment base. I don’t give it 5 stars because Milwaukee COULD have provided a third theaded hole in line with the grinder head, as a third posible position for the handle (evidently, their engineers still have to do their homework!).

As a masonry contractor I have purchased dozens of grinders, first time this Milwaukee. Had high hopes due to the brand reputation but the placement and horrendous function of the switch is such a letdown.Granted it’s a cheaper tool but please spend a few more nickels on a better part! Wonder if they ever Beta test their tools by pros???
