The Milwaukee 11 Amp Corded 4-1/2 in. Small Angle Grinder With Paddle Lock-On is just what I was looking for for doing some grinding on my solar panel mounts. Working on the solar panel mount left sharp edges after all my metal cuts. Using the grinding wheel let me round the edges off to make it safer. The grinder is easy to use and fits well in your hand. This model has a lock to lock the paddle in the on position. Thats a nice feature for those long grinding jobs. Changing out grinding wheels is also easy to do. There is a button that you push in to lock the wheel and the supplied tool lets you loosen the locking nut. There is also a handle that you can put on the left or right side for more control of your grinder. I am happy with this grinder.

The only things we had to do when we opened the box was decide which side to put the extra handle on and purchase a grinding wheel. The handle screws to either side that you prefer and can be swapped easily if needed. We tested it on a big bolt that went through a horse hitching rail and stuck out the other side. This grinder took it off with ease and we were able to grind down the sharp edges to make it safer for the horses. It has enough power to perform well for us without being a huge tool to handle.

Great tool, plenty of power, feels heavy duty. Only dinged it one star cause the head on the unit gets pretty hot with continuous use. Other than that another great Milwaukee tool!

I’ve been using this grinder to cut tile for out bathroom for sections that are a little more complicated and it was been working really well, with the right cutting wheel. I’ve used this to cut the tile for the toilet mount and for floor vents without cracking or chipping tile. I don’t get bad vibrations that cause tile to break, it cuts smooth without issue. Changing the cutting wheel to a grinder is fast and simple as well and not overly complicated.

Have used a Dewalt 4.5 corded for years and at work an old Ryobi (yes, I know, a lightweight casual use unit but gave years of service.). I broke the housing on the Ryobi mid-job and ran out to HD for a new one and selected this unit and glad I did.I use Milwaukee cordless tools and Dewalt corded at home. I’ve adopted the Milwaukee battery ecosystem but first corded Milwaukee in years. Just as in their cordless line this tool is well balanced and very powerful. Other posters have given great reviews of the tool’s features and agree. Smooth operating and not too loud (wear protection in any event) this is a joy to use. Some have remarked on the paddle-switch but I prefer after you get used to them. Particularly like the tool-less guard as that is a pain on my Dewalt. Easy to adjust or remove. Great tool.

We have used these grinders over the years, their quality and service has always been great. It is easy to handle, weight wise, and easy to change the disks. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because in the past they have a small tool bag included, even states it in the description, but this time it was not included.

This review is for the Milwaukee 11 Amp 4-1/2 in. Small Angle Grinder (Paddle, Lock-On). When rating any tool with the Milwaukee name, the review is complete with just the name. The Milwaukee brand, justifiably and immediately, says very high quality, strong, sturdy, easy to use, long lasting, professional grade for contractor and DIY. This small angle grinder is no exception to the Milwaukee rule. First, it is powerful – the 11,000 RPM motor delivers 11 Amps of grinding power. I had to grind down a section of concrete walkway that was interfering with the closing of a screen door. It did the job in only a few minutes. In addition to being powerful, the motor is protected by an overload device and an electronic clutch that comes in handy when the user applies excessive pressure to the tool or when the tool becomes suddenly wedged between two pieces of concrete or metal. The reduced grip size makes for good handling ergonomics so the grinder is easy to hold even for extended periods without grip fatigue. Manipulating the unit was easy with a minimum of wrist bending. The paddle lock-on makes using the grinder even easier. Milwaukee states the unit is “tool free” and it is when changing guards or adding some accessories but “tool free” does not extend to changing grinding discs or cut-off wheels. However, changing discs and wheels is an easy task with the included spanner wrench. As with all grinders, the guard should be matched with the disc or wheel being used. This unit comes with a Type 27 guard intended for use with grinding discs but most users leave it on with cutting wheels. Unfortunately, I discovered at other part websites that Milwaukee discontinued the Type 1 guard, “49-12-0361, shown on its own website for this unit. I will contact Milwaukee to see if there is a replacement guide for this number. I think it a must for the first time user to read the manual before using the grinder. He or she may want to check out the many videos on the internet to learn the safe use of a grinder. Remember, this unit is very powerful and can cause great harm if used incorrectly. This grinder comes with the Milwaukee 5-year warranty and repair parts are available on its website or on the many on-line parts website.

This is my first Milwaukee tool, but it wont be my last! It’s really a quality tool, very heavy duty and lives up to the Milwaukee reputation of making great tools. I used it this weekend on a tile job with a diamond cutting blade and as a grinder to smooth out the welds before I painted the firewood rack I built from angle Iron. Both jobs were accomplished with ease. But speaking of grinding and cutting, don’t forget to buy the blades you need as none come with this tool. The tool itself is actually quite heavy and feels like quality in your hands. One thing I did notice is that the Home Depot and Milwaukee websites lists it a 11,000 RPM’s but on the tool itself its listed as 12,000 RPM.Milwaukee give you a full 5 year warranty on the tool.

The Milwaukee 6141-30 4-1/2” Angle Grinder with Paddle and Lock-on is a quality product. It includes the grinder, a spanner wrench for spindle removal, a side handle and a type 27 guard. It does not include any grinding wheels. The spindle is a standard 5/8”-11 thread size. One of the main features of this model is a smaller body (2 inches less than the competition). The guard can be attached, detached and adjusted tool free with the simple press of a detent tab and a twist of the guard. Power is engaged by pressing the attached paddle. However, the paddle also includes a safety lock-off switch which I found difficult to engage and it pinched my hand on numerous occasions when I was not wearing gloves. The easiest way to engage it is to slide your hand up the body from the back letting your fingers push the lock-off switch down then you can squeeze the paddle to engage. The 11 Amp motor produces plenty of power and generates 12,000 RPM. The flange nut is reversible with one side for 1/4” thick wheels and the other side for 1/8” wheels. An integrated spindle lock makes it easy to change wheels. This particular model does not include controlled start so when you engage power, be sure to be holding on tightly as it jerks a bit. It also does not include an electric brake so make sure the disk comes to a full stop before you set the tool down. This model is constant speed so the paddle does not adjust rotational speed but instead only functions as on and off. My testing involved a cut-off wheel and angle iron. The grinder was able to easily cut through the angle iron with no reduction in RPM. The slim body of tool was easy to hold and allowed smooth maneuvering. The stated warranty is 5 years.

This review is for the Milwaukee angle grinder, model 6141-30. Milwaukee makes several different models; it’s important that shoppers make certain that they are looking at the correct model when making comparisons.I was given an opportunity to check out the 6140-30, a 4 ½” grinder which offers a paddle switch with locking mechanism. The paddle switch itself has a safety bar which must be engaged before the grinder will power up. The switch, located on the bottom of the handle, is easily engaged with one hand. The body of the 6141-30 is tapered at the cord end, allowing even smaller hands to easily grasp the grinder. The finish (in the traditional Milwaukee Tool black and red colors) is excellent, no rough or jagged edges. The grinder head offers a threaded handle, allowing the user’s free hand to help control the grinder. The handle can be mounted on either side of the grinder head so left handed users won’t have to use a “weak hand” hold. There is no provision for having the grinder head handle at the top of the grinder head, so a 90-degree hold allowing just the edge of the grinder wheel to be used isn’t a given. The unit comes with a disk wrench and a type 27 guard; the guard can be moved into various positions by moving the locking tab under the guard to one or another of the detents. This is vital – the angle grinder requires the use of a guard under most conditions (see the user’s manual) and being able to easily adjust the position of the guard is a ‘must have’ feature. There is no “on tool” storage for the wrench – it would be difficult to design considering the tapered grinder body. This Milwaukee model offers considerable power – 12,000 rpm and 11 amps. There is no adjustable speed feature, it’s “all or nothing”. It is important to use only disks and accessories that are rated for a minimum of 12,000 rpm. Accessories rated for usage at speeds less than 12,000 rpm may disintegrate under use and become a safety threat. The grinder does not offer the “slow start” feature of some grinders, so the user should be prepared for full speed torque the moment power is applied. There is also no “instant stop” feature – the grinder simply slowly spins to a stop (although quickly).I tried the grinder with a wire wheel on a metal door that needs repainting and it stripped the paint off in remarkable time (as in “instantly”). I had tried the same process using a wire wheel and a cordless ½” drill and there’s no comparison – the grinder was that much better. I’m not a metal worker or pro, just a “do it yourself” home owner, but I think this Milwaukee 6141-30 is a serious tool for serious work. Appropriate safety gear (eye protection, face protection, gloves, etc.) is a must. Do an Internet search on angle grinder injuries and you’ll be convinced. Ergonomically the grinder fits my grip just fine and it’s easy to direct on the work at hand. Not so heavy as to be a trudge to hold, but not so light as to allow the spinning disk to easily influence the way the tool is angled onto the work. (The tail does not wag the dog). Of course keeping a firm grip on the tool is a “must do”.While the grinder is not made in the United States, Milwaukee Tool does offer a 5-year warranty. The Milwaukee 6141-30 angle grinder isn’t a tool that I’ll use every day but it’s a welcome addition to my kit – there are three metal outside doors that my wife has been after me to strip and paint and the angle grinder is just the thing to make the chore easier.HTHRegards,Jim

Milwaukee really make some great tools, this angle grinder is no exception. It is easy to use and very powerful. I use this regularly to remove rusted or stripped fasteners and with the proper blade will cut through rusted bolts with ease. Make sure you wear eye protection! One of the best features of this tool is the reversible spindle nut. The spindle is 5/8″ and the nut has a 7/8″ shoulder on one side so the grinder will accommodate 4″ discs with a 5/8″ center hole, or 4.5″ discs with a 7/8″ center hole. The paddle switch lock-on feature is handy if you are grinding or sanding a large surface area. Great tool!

This is a very powerful angle grinder that’s easy to handle. A handle can be screwed on either side and is easy to change sides or remove if you need to. Blades are easy to change as well. The guard is easy to reposition in 5 different spots without tools. The instructions weren’t very clear to me on how to install the guard but actually trying it, it wasn’t too hard to figure out.I like the design of the paddle switch. It’s easy to use even with heavy gloves. The slimmer grip I find easier to handle. This version comes with a trigger lock, another variant doesn’t. Some people like grinders without a lock for safety reasons. I found that my thumb was just out of reach of the lock button so I wasn’t accidentally locking the grinder on. I don’t have particularly small hands. Maybe I was holding the grinder slightly differently but I liked that.

I had some concrete blocks to cut so I got this grinder. I purchased a diamond blade separately. The tool worked as expected. I really like the narrower handle. It made holding this grinder easier for a long period of time. This is my first time using a grinder, so I am a novice. But I thought the power output was good and easily cut through the concrete. i plan on using this to cut some pavers in the coming months.

Like most Milwaukee tools thing does a job and does it well. No complaints other than they should have molded the cord to hold the scanner wrench, but I just reused the cord bread tie and attached it to the cord.
