This grinder may be small but it is big on performance. The 11 amp, 12,000 RPM motor will give you more than enough power to conquer just about any job you need it to. You can change all accessories without a wrench which is a nice time saving feature. If you know anything about tools you know the Milwaukee brand is second to none. The box this grinder came in sums it all up – “Nothing but heavy duty”.

I used this in combination with a thin cutoff disc to remove nails from a pile of reclaimed lumber. This grinder gets up to speed smoothly and without vibration, which is critical for something you plan to use frequently. This grinder is easy to hold once you have the paddle depressed and makes it easy to maneuver when the removable handle isn’t attached. I was really surprised by how well this tool can keep its RPMs up because it doesn’t feel that heavy in my hands, like you’d expect something with this much power to weigh.Summary:Unless you have some niche application (and if you did you wouldn’t need me to tell you this) this is the grinder for 99% of people. It’s strong but light and easy to handle for long periods of time.

In a world were cordless tools seems to be the norm, this corded 4.5″ grinder really shines over the cordless tools. Has plenty of power for most light to moderate heavy grinding jobs. Guard attachment and adjustment via a spring lever is easy. With the included wrench, disk change is also a breeze and quick. Cord is thick and durable and does not tangled when used.

I really have fallen in love with this little grinder. I think it can cut just about anything. It has done me well cutting steel and some paver bricks. I also cut some heavy gauge fencing material, but it was steel as well. Just make sure that you are using the correct cutting disc for the job you are tackling. Installing the discs takes very little effort and the shield is adjustable to where you need it too. There is a handle that will attach to either side so you can get the extra control and pressure when needed. Feels good in the hand, which I feel is very important for power tools. This little grinder has plenty of power, and the quality is top notch. I like cordless tools best, but if I have to go corded, this is the way to go.

This is a good side grinder but I did have a problem with the wheel coming loose when operating. It claims that no tool is needed but I had to use channel locks to tighten it up so that it stayed on. The tool does not come with any wheel attachments so they must be purchased separately but they do not cost much. Instructions for attaching the wheel could have been clearer but the picture helped. As for the operation of the side grinder, it works well. It has a powerful motor and safety trigger to prevent accidental activation of the tool. Handle can be attached to left or right side which is a plus.

I am using this tool to sharpen my lawn mowers’ blade, and the price of this grinder will be recouped by just sharpening the lawn mowers’ blades twice – attention must be made to balancing the lawn mowers’ blade. It is small, powerful, smooth running and easy to use. You can change accessories without a wrench, and you can make quick guard installation and adjustments. This is a great tool.

My first impression in handling this tool, was that it feels solidly built. I know nothing lasts forever, but somehow this grinder feels like it will, and the 5-year manufacturer warranty says Milwaukee is confident in its product. I purchased a few different grinding/cutting wheels to try this out, since the product is sold as a bare tool and does not include accessories. The grinder worked at a productive speed when cutting through ½” steel rebar and the RPM didn’t slow down at all as it made its way through the steel bar. The grinder has a bit of heft to it, so I’m not sure I’d want to be using it for long periods in order to avoid arm fatigue. I had not used a grinder like this before, although I’ve had several instances where I needed to cut/trim metal parts or masonry (pavers/block). In the past, I resorted to other, less efficient ways to cut through hard material (drilling, carbide saw, etc), and I think this will be a much better approach to dealing with those projects. It took a few minutes to figure out how the wheel guard was installed, but after referring to the instruction manual, it was relatively easy to complete. I like the way the guard locks in place when properly set. Installing wheels on the grinder was a straight-forward process, although I wish there was a pocket or sleeve built into the grinder housing to hold the lock wrench that is provided. I like how a spindle lock button is conveniently built into the head of the grinder, making it easy to find/reach and to install/remove wheels/discs.The trigger was a bit different to operate than say, a traditional power drill or circular saw because it has a “lock-off button” that must be pulled back before squeezing the paddle switch, but after a using it a brief while, it became second nature. Though this tool has a great deal of torque, it quickly comes up to speed rather than bursting full speed at the push of a button. The paddle switch conforms to the shape of the tool barrel, so that squeezing the trigger serves to both turn it on and provide tool grip, and this also eliminates finger fatigue. Just release the tool barrel to stop the machine. This is a great product that I would recommend to a friend.

I really enjoy the Paddle switch on my Milwaukee 11 AMP CORDED 4-1/2 IN. SMALL ANGLE GRINDER PADDLE NO-LOCK! All the side grinders I have previously used have a locking slide switch near the grinding head. They have worked, but they always have seemed awkward to switch on and off, especially when using working gloves. This new Milwaukee side grinder takes care of that right now! All it takes is for you to slide your hand over the paddle, unlocking it and engaging the trigger all in one smooth motion. (It takes a little bit to get used to at first, but it is soooo simple that you will grab on real quick!) And the spark shield adjust with a simple push of the thumb and a quick rotation, Unlike any I have used before!Anyway, this paddles switch is a LOT easier and safer than the old rocker/sliding switch on my old yeller, that I may never go back!

Nice corded grinder that is perfect for smaller jobs. I have used it a few times and I think it will stand the test of time. I do wish it came with a few wheels so you can use it right from the get go, but for the price I won’t complain too much. The cord is pretty hefty and speaks to the quality of the product. I would by this and have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of Milwaukee products.

The Milwaukee small angle grinder is light weight and very easy to use and the slim design fits into places other grinders wont. The no-lock paddle makes for a safer grinder than those with a locking paddles when used by first time users. The grinder does not come with any grinding discs so be sure to purchase some before you plan on using the grinder.
