This 6″ angle grinder is slightly heavier than the 4 1/2″ in stock at most hardware stores, but is worth ordering and waiting for. Forget the price difference because the extra power and longer grinding life of the cut-off wheels and grinding discs are worthy of upgrading!

There is one item with this which is not an quality issue but a poor design thing. The guard has a plate which wraps around the front of the disc and allows only enough room to install only the thin cut off disc. A grinding disc or buffing wheel “flap disc” can not be used. I have other commercial grinders with an open face guard from the factory, so it’s not an safety requirement. Once the the restrictive front cover was cut off, it became a 5 star tool. I would recommend this if one is willing to do this “non hazardous” modifcation.

the safety switch could be more convenient and I haven’t yet had the time to really test the tool. I think reviews would be of more value 6months or a year after purchase to see how a product is holding up.

The gaurd should be open on the bottom. Cutting off bolts close to flush with the surface is nearly impossible.

I have a 4 1/2 inch Milwaukee angle grinder but I needed something bigger for grinding high spots on a concrete floor. I have tried my larger angle grinder but I wanted the six inch because of the weight. This grinder is perfect and I already knew the quality was excellent from my 4 1/2 inch grinder. This is my first power tool with the paddle rather than the trigger style. It is more user friendly not to use one finger to turn on and hold the grinder. The lock on feature is a must for me for prolonged use of the grinder.

This grinder is an excellent value, I use this grinder at home however the company I work for has 4 of them we have worked the heck out of them for the last two years and had no problems so I new it was a good choice for me at home. Very high torque cuts 1/4 ” steel better than any other I have used.
