To be honest here, I really wanted to get a cordless version of a tool like this. After much research, and comparing various makes and models, I came to the conclusion the the prices on the cordless models were more than I was wiling to pay, at the moment anyway. I really don’t need a deep cut version. I don’t make a living with something like this, and put it the category of a right angle drill. Meaning a tool that I don’t use all the time, but when needed it really comes in handy, and then some. When I looked at a few in the stores they were also much larger in size than I thought. So I more or less had to take a step backwards to my tech school days of the 70’s, and decide what I had really learned back then. In those days we did everything with a hand held hacksaw, and you needed to gets the cuts right or start over. It did not take long to figure out that the blade selection was EVERYTHING. So my bottom line here is I made my selection on being able to get a nice saw, with case, the blades I needed, everything Genuine Milwaukee, all at the right price from Home Depot. I could not be more pleased with my selection.

I had never used a portable band saw before this time. I really like this saw, it is fairly small and light weight, good for working overhead or small places. It cuts fast through mild steel and has a relatively large cutting capacity. The things I do not like about it are:1. Home Depot canada and usa do not sell the new blades of any tooth count so you must order online so if you dont have enough spare blades that is an issue, the other models use standard blades but this model does not.2. there is no bubble level to indicate when you are cutting straight vertically or horizontally and it is difficult to tell when the saw is at the correct angle so often the cuts are on an angle, some sort of a way to cut straight would be SUPER useful.3. Milwaukeee says it is a flush cut saw, it does NOT FLUSH CUT. cutting down perpendicular it is about 1/8″ from flush and cutting parallel it is about 1 5/16″ from being a flush cut.4. The variable speed does not go very slow, even at the lowest speed it is quite fast. Good luck!

I use this tool about 3 hours every day. I cut bronze, aluminum, iron, steel… This tool just won’t quit. I’d like for the blades to last longer but other than that they kick butt dude.

This has to be one of the absolute best buys I have ever made. It does all that it is advertized to do, in style. It is competively priced and quality superior to any I have used before. Compact, powerful, easy to handle, and makes short work of an otherwise cumbersome job. I definitely would recommend it to anyone that is in the market for a product that does what it does.

It’s light weight & easy to use. I have used full sized portable Bandsaws and this one works just as well at half the weight.

Instructions on assembly were minimal. There were no instructions on how to properly hold or use it other than one diagram on how to position blade on material. Definitely a learning curve involved in using this saw.

Best small band saw we have ever purchased.

I wish this tool was around 30 years ago – I could have done my work so much easier. If you’re an electrician (as I am) or plumber and you do not own one of these… you’re an idiot. The battery versions are just as good (a plumber friend of mine swears by his), but I like corded equipment.

Milwaukee”, the leader in power tools has done it again. Here is a saw that will fill the bill for the majority of the contractors who just neeed a saw for special instances that is more than there reciprocating saw can handle (Not to mention the cost of reciprocating saw blades these days). It will last any home owner, if properly PM’d and given proper care, for a lifetime. Many people judge tools on how much misuse they can handle not how a tool holds up when used to it’s proper capacities and feed speeds. No, I just have to say that it is great that a very reasonably priced tool is available to the homeowner, when it certainly wouldn’t be economically viable for a home owner to spend $600 to $1000.00 for a huge Industrial Portable Band Saw, this is the answer-period.

This is awesome battery powered bandsaw!! It has as much power as my corded compact Milwaukee bandsaw but has portability. Along with the bigger jaw than the 12 volt cousin it can cut 90% of the required work without getting out the large deepcut corded bandsaw. The abilty to hold and balance the saw with one handed operation is safer so you can use the other hand to hold the work piece. It has pretty good battery life for its size. Ideal for working on a lift or a ladder.
