I’ am a multicraft worker at work ,and I was really impress with the easy of using this saw .Almost as easy as using a saw for lumber but at slower travel speed. We use this saw to cut various flat metal ,sheet metal, C-purlin, cable tray, square tubing and cutting angles. But keep safety in mind smaller metal need to be clamp down to cut highly recommend ear plugs ,glasses and gloves. Maintain a firm grip should saw to get in a bind toward the end of a cut. Iit has a heck of a kickback , just back it out of the cut and come in from the other side. A great tool

I bought it because I supply some hardened metals to the mining industry and I didn’t want to lose a sale because some customer didn’t have a plasma cutter to cut my plate. I found that I could easily cut 1/4″ mild steel with a 70-72 Rc hard chrome coating on one side of the plate – and it left a nice smooth cut finish. Could also cut the same plate product but with a 1/4″ thick through-hardened AR400 steel back – although at a reduced cutting rate. The tool manual doesn’t advise this but I tried it because a customer said he could even cut AR500 w/ his cold-cutting saw, and I had good results with the 400 plate. I found that a deeper blade setting combined with a kind of “plunge-type action” worked much better on the hardened plate than the shallow 1/4″ deep-er setting that the manual recommends. I thought it might damage or destroy the blade but it worked very well. I don’t know what my eventual blade life will be but so far, it cuts the materials that I bought it for and I am very satisfied.

Occasionally need to cut up to 10GA mild steel electrical equipment panels/switchgear in shop or field. This saw is a 1000% improvement over the reciprocating or grinding type tools we have used in the past. Borrowed it one day and then ordered one for next day delivery 2 hours after we started using it. Such a dramatic improvement that listing cons would be petty.

This saw is an animal when cutting steel. I’ve used it to cut through 18″ I-Beams and 3/4″ sheet steel. Yes, 3/4″ plate… just take your time. I greaded the saw at 5 stars but the blades are sort of hit & miss. I bought an extra blade and thank God I did. The blade that came with the saw cut a hard curve to the right. It simply wouldn’t cut straight no matter how hard I tried. No help from Milwaukee on this issue at all (that’s Milwaukee Canada, just to be specific) so I’m a little worried about what kind of warantee service I’d get. But so far, the saw is an absolute must in my farm garage.

Excellent saw. Cuts straight, clean and easily through metal without causing heat. Pricy but worth it.

As is the case with Milwaukee tools, this is a GREAT Saw for the money. Most of the serious metalworkers around my area have this Milwaukee and it has a very beefy feel and durability. I am a professional metalworker so I am sure that this will hold up to many many years of use. Even the blade that comes with it is of very good quality. I also purchased a Freud Diablo 42 tooth cermet carbide blade because they seem to last longer than this one. It also cuts wood without much splintering at all. The edges were smooth as glass and it was just as good as a standard wood-cutting circular saw. It even powered through wood with nails, rebar, and lag bolts without an issue. I made the mistake of buying the Dual Saw 6-inch twin-blade circular saw because of the counter-rotating blade technology and its (supposed) ability to cut both wood and metal and wow what an under powered piece of junk. It doesn’t even cut half inch plywood without burning it (even with sharp blades). Go for a proper metal saw and get the job done right!

We have 4 of these for everyday use in structural steel construction. Once the saw is engaged, it pretty much self feeds with little to no effort required to keep the cut straight. The saws have pulled off 5′ long cuts in 2-1/2″ thick mild steel plates – and continued to cut for a long time after. Works fine on grating, C channel and I beams. HSS tubes also no problem.

Works great! Cut through half inch plate like plywood. Definitely recommend to anyone who does metal work.

Yes the foot comes loose after use. Bad spot welds, wear, but let’s be honest. We are fabricating metal with this saw, fix it… Let the saw tell you how fast to feed it and keep it cool. Blades will last. Capable of cutting 2×2 + tubing in a single pass. This saw is amazing.

I have been using my Metal Cutting saw for several years and cut 10 gauge panels like it was plywood. Just finished hose supports by ripping 6″ Sch 40 pipe x 20 ft. in half. The blade was never replaced but perfect finish.

I needed something to cut sheet metal with and borrowed a used & abused one. I tried the saw out cutting some parts out of 12GA & 3/16 and loved it. Just what I needed, an economical, dependable, comfortable tool for cutting sheet metal cleanly, no more grinding 🙂 I ordered my own the next day, the box it came in was in perfect condition but I found that Milwaukee has a manufacturing flaw where the shoe assembly bracket is riveted & tack welded onto the shoe plate, as my new one was broken loose upon opening it. The borrowed one was as well but I figured it was due to abuse & just lined it up & welded it back in place. A simple adjustment needs to be made on Milwaukees machine for better welds, plus shipping me a new shoe assembly (since it’s brand new).

Im a rig welder and I love this saw. I zoom thru grading and anything thinner than 1/4 plates even diamond plate. Has helped me do my job very well. I use my torch a lot less now. I dont like the blade it comes with because it wares out fast but I installed a evolution 8″ blade and the saw is a monster. I laugh at 1/4 plate and grading all day… Very good saw

I was skeptical, but this saw is a beast.

I USE THIS SAW IN MY FABRICATION SHOP. IT IS A REAL TIMESAVER OVER USING A TORCH. MAKES A CLEAN COOL CUT, NO WARPING ON THINNER METALS. ONLY COMPLAIN IS THE SHOE MOUNT NEEDS ATTNTION. I WELDED MINE BACK ON. IT IS STAINLESS SO ITS NOT A FIX FOR EVERYONE.

Works great. Cuts through metal like it plywood. Went through 1/4” material with ease. No burr’s

Provides a nice clean cut, most of the metal shavings are caught in the blade guard so there is less to clean up.Have only had for two weeks, so far so good.
