This Milwaukee 8 in. Metal Cutting Circular Saw delivers faster, cooler, cleaner metal cutting. Forget the showers of hot metal chips and sparks that were once an aerial threat on the job. This saw shears with a virtually spark-free wake and cool, burr and scorch-free edges that don’t require post-cut finishing. Metal shavings are effectively contained with a durable magnesium blade shield and channeled into the saw’s integral chip tank. It makes tough cuts: up to 10-Gauge sheets and 1/4 in. steel plate cuts all day, every day. Even more extreme cuts, up to 3/4 in. steel plates, are possible. Specially formulated cermet tip metallurgy and tooth geometry ensure these incredible blades cut faster, stay sharp longer and resist more impact, resulting in less blade changes.

This is an awesome saw! First thing used for was to cut off multiple pieces of 3/4″ ready rod. I also did a bit of cutting on 1/4 ” steel plate, cutting both parts very well and quickly! The threaded rod cut smooth enough that we could start a nut from the cut side, not having any nuts spun on before we cut, we were hoping that this would work!

Cut through 1/4″ steel plate like butter. Very impressive. I like this one above the other brands because of the plunge lever. It allows you to keep both hands firmly in place and raise the guard at the same time. Very solid saw.

We are building a Container Duplex and did not have enough power on-site yet for the Plasma cutter. For the window and door openings, the Milwaukee Metal Saw plunged and ripped thru the container walls perfectly. The only hesitation was when the metal walls would tweak and bind on the blade at times, but the saw worked great!

This saw is an animal when cutting steel. I’ve used it to cut through 18″ I-Beams and 3/4″ sheet steel. Yes, 3/4″ plate… just take your time. I greaded the saw at 5 stars but the blades are sort of hit & miss. I bought an extra blade and thank God I did. The blade that came with the saw cut a hard curve to the right. It simply wouldn’t cut straight no matter how hard I tried. No help from Milwaukee on this issue at all (that’s Milwaukee Canada, just to be specific) so I’m a little worried about what kind of warantee service I’d get. But so far, the saw is an absolute must in my farm garage.

A beast. Cuts through anything…. Any. Thing. Wish it was a little lighter, I ain’t 29 any more. Ambidextrous would be nice too, but after 60 years as a lefty I’ve gotten pretty good at using right handed tools since that’s mostly the only kind available. I’m happy with it anyway.
