The 6955-20 12 in. Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw offers best in class accuracy, power and ease of use. The Miter Angle Digital Readout provides repeatable accuracy to 0.1. The Miter Angle Fine Adjust with Detent Override makes it simple to dial-in precise miter angles. Dual Integral Jobsite Lights fully illuminate the work piece and cut line from either side of the blade. The powerful 15.0 Amp, 3.3 Max HP Direct Drive Motor provides increased power for high performance cutting in hard lumber. Constant Power Technology with Soft Start maintains constant cutting speed under load and decreases start up head movement. The Integral Dust channel captures up to 75% of the dust and debris cut.

The saw is well made, and I’m happy with my purchase. On the negative side: Why does such an expensive saw not include a vacuum attachment, or stock hold down? I reluctantly ordered the vacuum attachment and made my own stock hold down!

I keep hearing that Milwaukee was the best, so when I needed to replace my mitre saw, I ended up getting this one. Good things: slide is butter-smooth, digital angle display and “creeper” gear on angle adjustment are very handy doing angled mitres.Bad things: noisy on start-up – sounds like a gearbox is grinding (replaced one unit in-store, new one was not much better), the safety switch on the trigger broke off after a couple days use, and this saw is very heavy. Overall, it does a good job. I put it on a Toughbuilt quick set stand which folds and rolls, so that helps manage the weight of the saw. But I was surprised that the quality is apparently no better than anything else I’ve seen in the $400 – $500 price range. Only buy it on sale, its not worth $699. If I was going to try another brand, I’d look at Makita.

Great saw. Powerful, clean cuts. A bit noisier than my Bosch and have to get used to the 2 second delay for blade to start up, but blade brake works perfectly. the 12″ blade and high opening allow for great flexibility. Happy with my purchase.
