This saw had features that I did not know were available. It is, however, very heavy for transporting from job site to job site.

Very well built saw. It’s better than I expected. I’ve used it only about a dozen times so far but I love using it. The built in double light is a great feature.

What an awesome saw , was torn between this and Dewalt but so glad I bought it. Cntrols are so smooth, slide works awesome. Great build quality. Highly recommended. But be warned…..it’s a heavy duty one

I bought the saw because of the brand and due to an offer for a free stand. The saw delivers in power, no question about it. The angle measuring gizmo is easy to operate, but despite a “fine tuning” gizmo for precise angles, you’ve got to keep your eye on it at times because measurements may vary. Dust IS a problem with this one. Using a dedicated vacuum for it is insufficient. The dust catching mechanism DOES NOT WORK properly and only catches about 50% of the dust. Definitely for use outdoors otherwise you will have to finagle with a dust catching homemade rig. BTW the center of the saw blade does NOT reach all the way to the back. If you intend to cut something above 2″ high straight through, it will not cut it on one pass.

Bought this saw today after returning a god awful Ryobi 10″ saw. I went with it because the store in my city didn’t have the Dewalt DWS779 and this was comparable quality and only $50 more than the Dewalt. Brought it home and started setting it up and immediately noticed that the dust chute was a wide oval shape, meaning I wouldn’t be able to connect my shop vac to the chute which was a bummer. I bolted the saw down to my bench and started on some test cuts to get a feel for the saw. I immediately noticed that the saw does not spin up as soon as you depress the trigger and then more slowly spins up to max speed. This prevents the saw from kicking as soon as you start it up so that’s a plus. I also notice that how this saw uses its two LEDs to create a shadow line of the blade for you to use as a cut line, but this took some figuring out because the shadows eventually meet and that will tell you where your blade will cut. I’m not sure yet how I feel about it, as it’s definitely usable, but not like the laser cut line on older saws that I’m used to which would let you know instantly where your blade will be.After I finished the test cuts and got used to the saw, I started cutting up some cherry wood for a woodworking project. I was really hoping that the length of the cut with the saw at 90 degrees would be longer, but it’s only 13.5″. It would have been great if it was 16″. Thankfully, I was able to get almost perfectly square cuts. They were only off by a hair’s width which is still very usable and can be cleaned up during sanding/finishing of a project. The digital readout of your bevel cut its a neat little trick that would come in handy for someone like a contractor who puts in extra attention to detail when doing cuts, but I think that the purpose of this feature is defeated by the fact that in order to lock the bevel into place, you need to really squeeze the lever underneath and that may end up undoing any fine adjustment you’ve made. On top of that, the readout is always on, meaning that if you leave your saw plugged in, the readout will die eventually. It would have been nice to have a way to turn it off without having to unplug the saw.Overall, I’m rating this a 4/5.Pros: LED/shadow cutlineStraight cutsNo kick on startupCons:Only 13.5″ length cut at 90 degreesDigital readout always onCan’t use a shop vac to catch sawdust

I’ve only used it a couple times but the saw seems to be of excellent quality.

Works as it should and makes great cuts. Only complaint is that it needs a better user manual. For a 1st-time user or one out of practice (as I was), it was tricky just getting the saw arm out of lock position. But once I figured out all the locks, guards and levers, is was ultimately user friendly. User manual did help a little.

As a former/retired custom home builder I have been working with Milwaukee tools for decades, some of which I still have and operate perfectly.I was in the market for a new sliding compound mitre saw and sought out one with appropriate features with a fair associated price point. After an extensive online and in-store search, I landed back with Milwaukee and this saw and stand combo. To date it has exceeded my expectations and saved me plenty of time doing a variety of projects. I also like that I am protected (as always) by their 5-year warranty, should an issue ever arise.I highly recommend Milwaukee and their family of well built and well priced tools.

Fantastic saw, great versatility, accurate and clean cuts. Well worth the investment.

This has been the best mitre saw I have ever used. My only complaint has been how heavy and awkward it is to move around, but I realize without the weight it wouldn’t be as good of a saw.
