It is a saw that is versatile and makes excellent cuts. The saw can get too hot after continual use of about an hour (cut approx. 60-2x10s in that time). This is the only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars. In comparison, my Makita circular saw was run just as heavily and wasn’t even warm. At first I missed the laser sight but the light allows me to continue to work in shadow and that has been a nice addition. The blade placement takes a little getting used to, but it is very consistent and very powerful. For its size and for what it is, the saw is rather light but far from compact. I would definitely recommend this product.

Poor quality finish (scratches/paint imperfections) on otherwise nice saw.

Powerful, smooth cutting action from this saw. Lights are great along with the digital display that compliments the manual angle display. The rubber molds under the machine to enable comfort during mobilization are fantastic!

Let us start by stating this review is based on a large construction crew of both framers amd finishers. We own 15 units at this time. Bought the first one in 2006. Unlike others who experianced problems we maintain and service all our tools in regular intervals as well as clean an lubricate them. We have never had a failure on any of the 15 units. Except for a burned out lamp. Each saw has well over 2000 hours of service against it. I do agree it is a heavy saw but on my experiance you get what you pay for and tools are always about the guage of material they are made from. As tools go it is a portable saw. Its is not too heavy in our opinion and we dont believe they should be left out side to allow the elements to cause a failure. Our insurance carrier would deem that negligence.

Chose the Milwaukee over a Dewalt for its smooth slide action. Impressed with the Milwaukee’s base casting finish quality.

Saw is excellent but if I could change one thing it would be a longer cut say 16-18 inches instead of 14 inches other wise the saw is fabulous

I thought for quite sometime on which saw to buy and finally decided on this one. It came square right out of the box and the dust cllector and led lights on this saw are fantastic. Be sure to use a really good blade on this for finish cuts and you will be very satisfied with this product

I spent much time evaluating 12 inch sliding miter saws and it came down to bosch radial arm, dewalt dws780, milwaukee 6955..without a shadow of a doubt the bosch n dewalt can’t hold a candle to this fine, quality, precision, ease of operation Milwaukee machine. 5 year warranty, soft start,no childish lazer, lights on each side of blade, buttery smooth operation of arm and tree trunk slide..yes 10 lbs heavier than others but take the skirt off beefcake ..it’s 65lbs…excellent dust system, digital miter micro adjustment is fantastic, bevel is super smooth and locks at any angle..The Milwaukee came outta the box square, no adjustments needed..as for the right fence not sliding just take a Dremel and file.Remove small nub off fence and then buzz down nub on fence slide next to locking screw..took me 10 minutes..Have done oak staircases, oak interior trim…The milwaukee performed flawlessly.. I highly recommend, no disappointments..ENJOY
