The Milwaukee 1-3/4 in. Coil Roofing Nailer features an ultra-lightweight magnesium housing to minimize fatigue. Its compact size offers greater maneuverability. The Load-N-Go magazine holds 120 galvanized wire collated Nails from 3/4 in. to 1-3/4 in. length and 0.120 in. Dia. A magnet holds the Nails in place making loading fast and efficient. The thick rubber guards minimize housing damage. The tool-free depth of drive protects from overdriving Nails. The adjustable air deflector with muffler directs exhaust away from the work area and holds down the noise. The textured selectable trigger lets you move from sequential or contact actuation by simply turning a knob. A removable shingle guide assists in quick shingle alignment.

HD always asks, “Did [product X] meet your expectations?” Well, Milwaukee’s 1220-20 Nailer exceeded them to the max. I’ll explain by contrasting it with two other nailers I returned.Hitachi’s NV45AB2: Excellent tool-of-the-pros rep, high price. But it incurably double nailed about every 15 shots. Not good for shingles, but disastrous for hanging fiber cement siding which was my current project. A sequential (non switchable) trigger was an $80 option with a complicated installation after mail delivery. De Walt’s DWFP12658: Decent reviews, and a switchable trigger. How could I lose? Well, I did–big time. Before I’d nailed two bundles of comp shingles (21 per bundle) I counted the bent nails from 22 cleared jams. With 16 bundles to go, finishing the job would take a week, and heavy rains were expected in two days. Not only that, it double fired more than the Hitachi–and in sequential mode! At the end of every coil the final nail fell from the muzzle. So in mid-afternoon I raced to Home Depot and in a desperate gamble, snatched the Milwaukee. Milwaukee 1220-20: In a few hours before sundown I nailed down 4 bundles. Next day I finished the job without a single jam, double fire, or a single wasted nail, using the same nails that had jammed & double fired in the De Walt. Not even a sacrificial end nail. It fired every time the trigger was pulled. I can think of no way the Milwaukee could have performed better. Jeff Bezos’ famous website had only customer ratings for Milwaukee’s model 1221-21 (now unavailable), but they were higher than any of the dozens of nailers sold there. I suspect reviews for the 1220-20 will be even better.

I was looking to buy a Hatachi coil nailer but couldn’t find one so I took a chance on this model Although it had a few plastic parts on head of nailer I can’t complain. It has a single nailer function and a continues lever for for rapid firing. Overall it is a good gun, I’ve been roofing for 35 years and have used many different nailers but I’m very happy with this.

It is a good roofing nailer however if you intended to use it for siding the safety foot is to big. It could also use a belt hook.

Excellent roofing gun. I’ve only used it on one job so far, but I had no issues with it. No jamming, easy to load nails, super lightweight and still feels durable.

This nailer is just awesome I’m comparing it against my old senco (which is good but a dinosaur) . I’ve put on about 40 square so far and it has worked flawlessly

Overall this nail gun is awesome. Performed nearly flawlessly doing our roof. The only issue we had was occasionally a piece of wire from the nail roll would cause it to jam. Only happened a few times on 3200sq/ft of shingles. Can’t go wrong with a Milwaukee!

Better made than the competition. Better than Bostitch. Had to take a Bostitch back because of complications the first day of nailing. The Milwaukee gun is better made and costs a little bit more but I rather pay more than have a bad day. Thank you Milwaukee.

Was in time crunch to replace roof, purchased this tool to expedite job and absolutely had no problems loading and using. You will need to read directions to ensure proper pressure is set not over sink or under sink nails, as with any air nailer.

I liked how easy it was to adjust for nail depth. I also liked the positive impact that this gun has, it feels like it hits solid every time.

Used it to roof a barn, and it great to work with. It’s worth getting.

Great gun only reason not 5 stars is needs to be an easier way to switch from trigger mode to tap mode. While roofing you want to be able to bang those three nails in one shingle out like bang bang bang not pick it up set it down pull pick it up set it down pull… anyone who does roofing will agree….
