Another fantastic Milwaukee product. I recently bought a 4 foot level, which I thought was a pretty good one. I won’t mention the brand other that it”s the blue one. Now don’t get me wrong the blue ones are good levels too. But when I received the Milwaukee level, there’s no comparison. This is heavy duty thick nicely honed edges. The bubbles are big and easy to see. The magnet is strong. Just a great level that will out live me. Highly recommended.

Another great tool by Milwaukee

This is a super level. It had some very strong magnets that hold it in place exceptionally well. I have a couple of other “high dollar” brand name levels and I have compared the three against each other. All within fractions of a thousandth of each other. I expect this level to hold up well and last a lifetime with a nice padded hard case that I have bought to keep it in.

My new 36″ box level is the best quality I have ever owned. The level has magnets built in to hold it up to steel surfaces without having to hold it. The level has three easy to read vials, with the top one being able to be viewed from three sides. There’s a hole to store the level when not in use (hanging it up). The finish is a beautiful red crinkle coat. There’s also rubber ends to protect it in case it falls. The material it’s made of is aluminum. It’s twist resistant and it shows no sign of flexing. The quality and durability are exceptional. This is a lifetime level! I highly recommend it.

Having my own construction business, rather than state the specs that are already stated in the advertisement, what better way to test this 59 inch Milwaukee box level than to let my guys test it over a period of two weeks? Their final resulting analysis ranged from very good to excellent. Two of the guys thought it too heavy (and both of them are big strapping men) The other six said it was good to hold and did not find it was too heavy (and not one of these guys weighs over 180 Lbs….go figure) All of them agreed that this box level is so accurate as to put their own levels to shame as none of them have a unique tolerance of 5000th of an inch per inch of the item being tested. Having the three USA made vials made this level super easy to use and be confident and having the 3 times magnification on each vial’s, made for easy reading. As well as being accurate, all agreed that it is very easy and safe to hold on to while in use (yep, even the big muscular guys that say it’s too heavy) It is a very durable level and just as well as these guys are not known to me as anything but a `little careless` at times with using tools. However, after 10 working days, other than a few small scratches and dusty, the box level is as good as new.I am so impressed with this, that I have bought another two to use on the working site. Do I recommend this? Absolutely.

I own a numerous levels from several different manufacturers. Milwaukee’s entry into the market is bold and quite a solid offering. I’m impressed with the overall feel of the level and it’s fit and finish. One distinguishing feature is the overbuilt spirit vial, which is much more sturdy that those even from the top of the line manufacturers. That only really makes a difference if it takes a direct hit, which isn’t that common, but it’s nice to have. The bubble is large and the vials are set up such that they’re very easy to read.I lined it up with my yellow reference level and the readings were spot-on. I compared flipped and rotated the level to check for parallel and consistency and it was spot-on. That’s good because if a level fails that test then it’s not much good. The level is a little thicker and wider than many other levels. This is a bit of a mixed bag as it feels chunkier. That probably means it will last a bit longer but it also means it’s heavier and takes a little more effort to use.My only beef with this level is that it’s coming in at the top end of the price range for levels. I haven’t seen anything on it to justify that price point and it’s unclear if these will hold up over time like the best of breed. I would really like to see this come in somewhere lower in the market.

The 96″ Milwaukee REDSTICK magnetic box level is awesome for work that demands a high degree of accuracy, when it must be level and plumb. This level has all the right stuff; accuracy, durability, light weight, easy to view vials, rubberized ends and grips. The REDSTICK can be used on electrical work when leveling long runs of conduit, or on sheet metal work when installing new runs for HVAC ductwork, or when installing kitchen cabinets. This level is best for all this work and more…

Removable end cap design is solid. Did not feel the quality with the associated cost. There are other levels that will be just as accurate and efficient for half the cost.

I use box levels regularly and the 48 inch one is probably used the most. After doing some research, I decided to obtain the new Milwaukee 48 in. Redstick Magnetic Box Level. The first thing noticeable with this box level is the good balance, ergonomic hand grips, and easy-to-read bubble vials. It’s an all metal (aluminum) backbone, so there’s no weak plastic parts. It also has strong magnets that hold the level firmly on a metal surface without support. After using the Milwaukee 48 in. Magnetic Redstick Level for several weeks I am very impressed with it’s quality, accuracy and ease of use.The vials on the Milwaukee 48 in. Magnetic Redstick Level are amplified 2x for increased visibility and have acrylic protective surfaces for easy cleaning. The level is milled to 0.029 degrees accuracy and comes with a lifetime warranty. Highly recommended for contractors or anyone needing a high quality box level.

With their acquisition of Empire Level, a company that has almost 100 years of experience with manufacturing high-quality levels, Milwaukee has really dove into the market. These new contractor-grade RedStick levels are built to the extreme, designed to compete directly with the Stabila levels that are very popular with carpenters and builders. These levels are built to the extreme, made to handle daily professional use, and the sometimes accidental abuse that happens on the job site. They are claimed to be “stronger than Stabila” with their all-metal inner-structural backbone and 10x more durable vials. The vials themselves are made in the USA. The levels have an accuracy tolerance of 0.029 degrees, or 0.0005 inches per inch, which is pretty much the industry standard in the high-end level market. The level carries a lifetime accuracy guarantee, as well as an overall limited lifetime warranty.I’ve been using it on sites over the last couple of weeks, and every tradesmen that I’ve showed it to has been impressed. The level is obviously very stout, the machining and overall fit and finish are excellent. The rare earth magnets hold the level firmly. The vials are very easy to read, and appear to be very durable.

The magnetic box level is encased with metal I think to increase durability of such a long level. It’s also easily portable with the molded hand grips and can be hung on the wall to maximize storage. Leveling additional closet shelving and countertop were easier with this length because it covered the length of the desired area; likewise the level gauges were quite visible enabling more precise measurement.

Great long level. It is an actual 8′ level. I have a hard time standing it straight up inside in some locations. This is a great layout tool. I have used this for cabinet installation, as well as floor leveling. Compared to my machinist level, it is exceptionally accurate. It is not spot on to 0.001 degrees, but that is completely unnecessary for 99% of all applications. It is more than adequate for anything most tradesmen would do.The dial is very large, and this is a great feature. Makes it easier to read and adjust as you struggle to support the whole level hanging 8′ out from you. The edge is flycut to about a 63 microinch finish, as shown in picture. While I do not own a surface finish profilometer, my comparison gage shows it at about 63. Feels about right as well. Given the overall goals of these Milwaukee levels, I would have liked to see a finer finish, at least a 32 microinch finish. All things considered, it is a well made level that is ready to go out of the box. Great for large layouts, and when a laser isnt appropriate. Great to have around, but remember, it is a true 8′ level. It can be difficult to transport!

Man these Milwaukee redstick levels are plain and simple high quality, stout levels. Then again I have never used a bad Milwaukee tool. I am a huge fan of levels. Its just that simple tool in the shop or on a job site, in which the use of one can make the finish product a sight to see or a complete disaster. This magnetic base 24″ level is the perfect size for all around use. This level is heavier than your typical levels, which is a good thing. Milwaukee aimed at making a more robust level that could handle the riggers of the job site, handle more weight with out bending or warping, and remain dead on accurate for its lifetime. In fact dead on accuracy with these levels for their life time is part of Milwaukee guarantee. Now these redstick levels will cost you a bit more than the average level you see hanging in your local hardware store or home improvement center, but they are oh so worth it. The magnets are really strong. The level is flat to with in .0005″ on both surfaces, so it can be trusted as a straight edge. I placed the level on the flattest machine surface that I have. Which is is my cast iron table saw top. Took the thinnest feeler gauge that I have which was .004″ and tried to insert it under the table saw at every point and there was not enough room to get the feeler gauge under the saw. This level is dead flat The vile are large and true to Milwaukee claim. They really are much easier to read. I I just really like these levels and they will become the new primary use levels in my wood shop. The others I am currently using in my shop will be downgraded to more messy work like laying tile, cement, and glue ups. Id highly recommend these levels to anyone in the market for a box level. You wont regret spending the extra bucks on this type of quality.

This is a 4 foot long box level that has magnets built in. The magnets are used for holding the level up to steel surfaces. There are three easy to read vials and two cut outs to use as handles. The cut outs have a protective material to keep you from cutting your hand. The level is made of aluminum and has black rubber ends to protect the level in case of a fall. The level is painted red and has a durable crinkle finish – like on a Ferrari valve cover! The level is straight as an arrow! It’s very strong and I didn’t see any flex when supporting it on only one end. This is a lifetime tool – the best made level I have owned.I give it five stars. This is the best of the best.

Very well made level, it is comparable to Johnson and Fatmax. The 48 inch size is great for bigger jobs and probably more for the contractor, but the avid DIYer will find a lot of reasons to use this length. I recently put this to work installing a long run of fence and it did a great job keeping things level. I found the machined surface to be well manufactured and true. like the non magnetic version for my use but if you are installing metal doors etc, you may prefer the magnetic version Milwaukee has made a nice product.
