Milwaukee tools stand up to the test of time, and this level is no different. It is strong, durable, high quality, well made, and supremely accurate. We just used it over the weekend when we built the deck to make sure we were level. We could put it on the roofline to check the level and could read it clearly from the ground. It is a very long level so it’s perfect for large jobs. The magnet holds it in place but also helps pick up nails and screws etc when the job is done. Great value for the quality you’re getting here.

Very well made level, it is comparable to Johnson and Fatmax. The 48 inch size is great for bigger jobs and probably more for the contractor, but the avid DIYer will find a lot of reasons to use this length. I recently put this to work installing a long run of fence and it did a great job keeping things level. I found the machined surface to be well manufactured and true. like the non magnetic version for my use but if you are installing metal doors etc, you may prefer the magnetic version Milwaukee has made a nice product.

Removable end cap design is solid. Did not feel the quality with the associated cost. There are other levels that will be just as accurate and efficient for half the cost.

This level is really beefy. What I really like are the large “bubbles” that make viewing extremely easy. The magnets really hold well and I plan to use this to level all my appliances – for starters. The versatility the magnets add really appeals to me. I was surprised, however, that there are no measurement markings like on every other level I’ve seen; to me this detracts from the value of the level, after all this is NOT cheap. Also, I requested this level on 11/9/2016 and finally received it 3/7/2017! Good thing I didn’t need this for a Christmas gift or anything else while I was giving up on ever receiving it.

Milwaukee has come out with a solid line of levels and this one lives up to its name. I have found this level to be both durable and accurate. The easy to read magnified bubbles make finding level and plumb lines a snap. The rare earth magnets give it great holding power on steel studs or any other metal surface you need to check. I like the compact box level design, as standard box levels are a bit bulky and heavy.Of course with any level, the most important thing is the accuracy. I tested it against itself (by flipping the level) and against a very high end level, and found that it holds true to its readings. The only thing I would like see is a durable carrying case to protect it in transit. With its solid build however, I don’t expect any problems for years to come.

This is a 4 foot long box level that has magnets built in. The magnets are used for holding the level up to steel surfaces. There are three easy to read vials and two cut outs to use as handles. The cut outs have a protective material to keep you from cutting your hand. The level is made of aluminum and has black rubber ends to protect the level in case of a fall. The level is painted red and has a durable crinkle finish – like on a Ferrari valve cover! The level is straight as an arrow! It’s very strong and I didn’t see any flex when supporting it on only one end. This is a lifetime tool – the best made level I have owned.I give it five stars. This is the best of the best.

This Redstick level from Milwaukee is a very well made, well-constructed piece. The sturdy tough frame is made of aluminum, with a special milled surface on either side. The heavy plastic end caps protect the surface of anything you’re measuring, but a clever release system lets you remove the caps if you need to get into tight corners– very handy where walls meet.To me, the best features on these Redstick levels are the high-visibility vials themselves– they’re larger than any I’ve seen in other levels, and super easy to read– a real plus when you don’t have your reading glasses, or when your wearing safety goggles. So far, I’ve used this level on indoor mounting projects and a trim project on my three-season porch, all with perfect results. At 24″, the level was easy to handle, yet long enough to ensure accuracy. It also features a strong magnetic edge for working with metal studs/ surfaces. Add in its lifetime guarantee, and I’m sold on the Redstick– it’s taken levels to a whole new, well, level!

The reviews are correct – strong, built and V E R Y easy to read. I am a steel stud framer and would very much recommend any one working with metal to get this or any Red stick. 59″ might be a odd dia. none the less a 4′ too small for 10′ plus walls a 6′ too long. Perfect for what I do and what I think a number of others will needed in the framing trades.

I own a numerous levels from several different manufacturers. Milwaukee’s entry into the market is bold and quite a solid offering. I’m impressed with the overall feel of the level and it’s fit and finish. One distinguishing feature is the overbuilt spirit vial, which is much more sturdy that those even from the top of the line manufacturers. That only really makes a difference if it takes a direct hit, which isn’t that common, but it’s nice to have. The bubble is large and the vials are set up such that they’re very easy to read.I lined it up with my yellow reference level and the readings were spot-on. I compared flipped and rotated the level to check for parallel and consistency and it was spot-on. That’s good because if a level fails that test then it’s not much good. The level is a little thicker and wider than many other levels. This is a bit of a mixed bag as it feels chunkier. That probably means it will last a bit longer but it also means it’s heavier and takes a little more effort to use.My only beef with this level is that it’s coming in at the top end of the price range for levels. I haven’t seen anything on it to justify that price point and it’s unclear if these will hold up over time like the best of breed. I would really like to see this come in somewhere lower in the market.

Another fantastic Milwaukee product. I recently bought a 4 foot level, which I thought was a pretty good one. I won’t mention the brand other that it”s the blue one. Now don’t get me wrong the blue ones are good levels too. But when I received the Milwaukee level, there’s no comparison. This is heavy duty thick nicely honed edges. The bubbles are big and easy to see. The magnet is strong. Just a great level that will out live me. Highly recommended. This is actually the review I wrote for the 24 inch level they are both fantastic no matter what size.

This is a super level. It had some very strong magnets that hold it in place exceptionally well. I have a couple of other “high dollar” brand name levels and I have compared the three against each other. All within fractions of a thousandth of each other. I expect this level to hold up well and last a lifetime with a nice padded hard case that I have bought to keep it in.

Although I’m not a contractor by trade I’ve been doing construction for family, friends and business for over 45 years. In that time I’ve accumulated many levels in assorted sizes. Some, good quality, some, not so good. I’ve also been using Wilwaukee products, almost exclusively, for the past five years due to their exceptional quality so when I saw their new line of REDSTICK Magnetic Box Levels I knew I would be impressed. From experience I know their quality to be Top of the Line but the pricing of these levels definitely gave me sticker shock. Can they really be worth the price they’re asking? These levels incorporate all the high-end features you’d expect. Lifetime guaranteed .0005 in. accuracy, exceptional readability in all three vials, rubber end-caps, over-molded, non-slip grips (48 in. and up), strength of construction with an all-metal backbone and super strong amplified rare earth magnets. Also, all of them have a hanging-hole so they can be stored off the ground. I ordered an assortment of sizes to replace all my other levels. I can truly say that until you hold one of these in you hands you will never be able to appreciate the overall quality of this tool. Due to the high price point these are probably not the levels for the weekend handyman unless you demand the very best in your tools. I’m still not sure I can justify the selling price of these, I’d like to think they’re just testing the market, but bottom line, unless in the future there’s some major revelation in the level industry these are the ones I’ll be buried with. I know, I’m a tool junky. LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTYEvery MILWAUKEE hand tool is warranted to the original purchaser only to be free from defects in material and workmanship.

The 96″ Milwaukee REDSTICK magnetic box level is awesome for work that demands a high degree of accuracy, when it must be level and plumb. This level has all the right stuff; accuracy, durability, light weight, easy to view vials, rubberized ends and grips. The REDSTICK can be used on electrical work when leveling long runs of conduit, or on sheet metal work when installing new runs for HVAC ductwork, or when installing kitchen cabinets. This level is best for all this work and more…

I understand why this is called “redstick” as it is just what feels like a solid indestructible bar. This level has certainly got some heft to it, but not so much that the magnets don’t have an easy time adhering to objects. In my attached photo it is clinging to the side of my laundry dryer without breaking a sweat. The only downside is the fact that when I did that I realized how the stand we built was not perfectly level.

The Milwaukee 48 in. REDSTICK Magnetic Box Level is another quality tool from Milwaukee Tools. It has a magnetic strip on one side so you can attach it to steel surfaces, to verify that they are plumb. The vials are very easy to read and the molded handles make it easy to carry and hang up. The reinforced aluminum body helps to ensure it will remain true year after year. Milwaukee Tools has done it, again!

We do a lot of metal work on buildings, restoring brick and stone, among other things. This level is awesome. It is large so it works great on the big jobs where the shorter levels just don’t cut it. I don’t mind the price, because the warranty, quality, durability, etc is well worth it. Milwaukee always stands beside their products and their products are worthy of a great review. This level is very easy to see and read. I would recommend the shorter levels for smaller projects as this length is very awkward on a smaller scale. The magnetic helps hold it in place while you make adjustments and can also help pick up scattered screws, bolts, etc. Milwaukee makes their products really durable and sturdy with high quality materials and excellent accuracy.

The magnetic box level is encased with metal I think to increase durability of such a long level. It’s also easily portable with the molded hand grips and can be hung on the wall to maximize storage. Leveling additional closet shelving and countertop were easier with this length because it covered the length of the desired area; likewise the level gauges were quite visible enabling more precise measurement.

After purchasing Empire Level a few years ago, it looks like Milwaukee has finally leveraged their experience. This is a very high quality, professional-grade level that rivals others in the top industry positions. Milwaukee even calls out “Stronger than Stabila” on the product packaging.I got the 48″ magnetic version, and it’s build quality was evident as soon as I picked it up. The milled aluminum construction is sturdy and perfectly flat. The vials are large, easy to read, and the center one is viewable from almost any angle thanks to the center cutout. There’s even a lifetime guarantee on the vials for accuracy to 0.029°.To strengthen the box beam at the center, Milwaukee has included an all-magnesium “backbone”. This feature is in all of their new RedStick levels, while the competition doesn’t add reinforcement to their levels unless they’re at least 59″ long. The magnets are super strong too, spaced roughly every 12″ along the bottom. One of the only design complaints I had was the removable end caps could uses a little more rubber on them. There’s a plastic tab that the rubber only extends about 1/32″ past, and when dropped it doesn’t seem like it absorbs enough of the impact before the more rigid plastic absorbs the rest. I also didn’t like that all the edges were chamfered, which makes it harder to use the level as a straight edge for marking lines.Overall, these are a great quality level. They’re definitely priced beyond what a homeowner needs, but for now they also seem to be priced a little beyond their professional grade competition. I guess after Milwaukee has a while to get a feel for the market demand we’ll see if it’s warranted or not, but for now I think they’re priced a little steep even for the pro users out there.
