These levels are going to give competitors a run for the money. This jamb set is very comparable to the 37532 from $ta8ila. Price comparison is about the same but Milwaukee does not include a carry bag (strike one). The levels are true when compared to others on a flat table including a consumer grade jamber from 5tanley/Bo5tich. I have been using a consumer grade jammer set (as mentioned previous) for the last 7 years with not one issue to speak of except it’s a little bit big in the bulk factor. These red box jambers are a decent weight and milled on two sides allowing one to use both sides. The surface is nice, true and accurate when compared using the new empire auto calibration model but even my old trusty consumer brand is still true. The paint finish of the red box is a good textured finish that won’t slip easily, has great fit with vials and includes rubber bumpers so you don scratch a nice finished surface when laid flat on its side. The vials are very clearly visible but I think I like the blue vials more especially when back lit where this is just a level, plain and simple…it’s a bit of a preference thing but these are darn good. The all metal trussed internal backbone adds some weight but also puts some rigidity into the extrusion which you should expect. The overmold grips are the perfect size and help limit slip especially when you overextend.Well, I think I only gave it one strike there and a close second strike could be that this is a non-magnetic version but I already knew that. All levels could benefit having magnets period. That said, these would be excellent for the pro but you might consider the magnetic version for just a tad more. I take extremely good care of all my tools so they last. This jamber in the hands of a coworker or employee should last the abuse on the jobsite especially with the engineered truss backbone. Go for it with redbox.

The magnetic level is great for Accuracy and I love the big bubbles. I’ve only had it about a month and yes it does meet my expectations. I use it every day.

Although I’m not a contractor by trade I’ve been doing construction for family, friends and business for over 45 years. In that time I’ve accumulated many levels in assorted sizes. Some, good quality, some, not so good. I’ve also been using Wilwaukee products, almost exclusively, for the past five years due to their exceptional quality so when I saw their new line of REDSTICK Magnetic Box Levels I knew I would be impressed. From experience I know their quality to be Top of the Line but the pricing of these levels definitely gave me sticker shock. Can they really be worth the price they’re asking? These levels incorporate all the high-end features you’d expect. Lifetime guaranteed .0005 in. accuracy, exceptional readability in all three vials, rubber end-caps, over-molded, non-slip grips (48 in. and up), strength of construction with an all-metal backbone and super strong amplified rare earth magnets. Also, all of them have a hanging-hole so they can be stored off the ground. I ordered an assortment of sizes to replace all my other levels. I can truly say that until you hold one of these in you hands you will never be able to appreciate the overall quality of this tool. Due to the high price point these are probably not the levels for the weekend handyman unless you demand the very best in your tools. I’m still not sure I can justify the selling price of these, I’d like to think they’re just testing the market, but bottom line, unless in the future there’s some major revelation in the level industry these are the ones I’ll be buried with. I know, I’m a tool junky. LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTYEvery MILWAUKEE hand tool is warranted to the original purchaser only to be free from defects in material and workmanship.

The levels are fantastic! High quality, light, strong, durable. Easy to read. The magnetic component is sweet and useful. I had to order them though and they were 2 weeks later than their projected arrival. Also didn’t care for the customer service when I picked them up. Employees were rude and unfriendly. I was clearly a hassle to them for picking up the order.

This is a very well constructed level, I compared it to my fatmax and johnson levels and the quality is almost identical. I don’t have much occasion ot use the magnetic feature but did have a chance to do so when replacing a basement door that had a metal casement. the surface is nicely machined and flat and I had no issue operaintg hands free. Milwaukee has made a competitive product that should give those loyal ot the brand a great alternative for their toolbox

These are some amazing levels. Everything about them is fantastic, except the 60 seconds you will spend at the cash register, but you do get what you pay for. The bubbles are bright and super easy to read. When I compared them side by side to my old levels the difference was even more noticeable. The edges have ridges/grooves to keep the level from sliding, it just feels alot better when you are using the level. The end caps have shock protection in case you drop it. I didn’t have the heart to drop mine on purpose but I have seen people abuse these things. You can also pull the end caps off in case you need an inch or two extra to fit in a tight space. The 48 inch has nice big hand grips so if you are wearing gloves you should still be able to fit your hand inside to hold it. The 24 does not have hand hold cut outs, I am guessing because of the re-enforced interior. My levels came with the built in magnets. Very nice, they hold quite securely. Besides the price, my only beef is that the hole at one end to hang the level is just barely big enough to go over a nail. My old level has a nice big hole that is super easy to slap over a nail. The level makes you actually have to aim a little bit. This is a minor issue, of course.

When we consider how technology has progressed I think what comes to mind the most is computers, TV’s and phones. That is all fine and good, but what about what has been accomplished in the manufacturing field. Case in point, a level. Think of all the trades that it takes to build a house and how many use a level and why. There is an old saying “Why is that we never seem to have time to do it right the first time , but always seem to have time to do it over”. If we have good quality, accurate and durable tools we can be more confident that it is done correctly the first time and won’t have to worry about doing the job again. The Milwaukee “Redstick” line of levels have to be at the top of the class. The frame seems to be a combination of a metal interior frame and extruded aluminum outer housing which maintains rigidity and durability. You have a 3/4″ wide rubber bumper on each end, weather it is the 78″ or the 32″, which by the way are removable if necessary. The 78″ is actually 76 7/16″ w/o the bumpers and 77 7/8″ with bumpers. A big plus is the magnified bubble contained in each of the three vials. On one side you have rare earth magnets, not a cheap choice, that really grab and hold. You have one or two, depending on length, rubberized hand holds. On one end there is a hang hole. Another feature that might help justify this kind of purchase is a Lifetime Accuracy Guarantee and a Limited Lifetime warranty. I have already used the 78″ to re-Aline/level two bedroom doors and a couple other small projects with the 32 inch. If not abused these levels will out last you.

These levels are top quality. I went around my house checking my door jambs that I installed, for square and level. I used these levels for a straight edge for cutting some plywood, they are sturdy and don’t bend. The two sizes are great for more than just door jambs. The level sight glasses are larger than normal so it’s easier to see that the project is level.

The Milwaukee 24 in./48 in. redstick magnetic box level set is a great deal. I own a lot of levels, but these milwaukee levels are now my favorites. The high contrast, magnified vial system is so easy to see. They feel so solid and easy to use. I like the removable end caps and they keep the level from sliding when I lean it up against a wall. Being magnetic is a plus when I use metal studs. It also is as accurate as any level I have. Love it.
