Really liked this light. After 6 months, now it won’t come on unless you’re holding down the beam/flood slider. Going to see if I can get another one under warranty.

I have used traditional bubble levels – from 9” to 96” – for over 40 years in the building business and when I saw Milwaukee had developed a family of digital electronic levels I had to give one a try. I ordered the 72” one because it is my 72” standard level that I use everyday at work. This REDSTICK has 2 displays: a single, round LED screen on the broad side that takes the place of a standard bubble vial and another rectangular one on center along the top edge. Both displays are in color. The body is a heavy duty aluminum extrusion with removable rubber end caps. The level is powered by Milwaukee’s REDLITHIUM USB rechargeable battery tucked away under a plastic cover on the back of the level. It can recharged in place using the included charger and beautifully designed cord. The electronic module can be programmed to work like a standard box level and displays the level or plumb numerically. By repeatedly pressing the MODE button you can toggle the settlings through angle, %, inches/ft, mm/m. There are numerous adjustments for precision, tolerance, sensitivity, screen contrast/brightness, and audible alarm. You can also set what Milwaukee calls PINS to effortlessly repeat a specific setting. Maybe it’s because I have been in the trades for so long and I’m set in my ways, but I think I will be using this level almost exclusively like a standard level: to establish level and plumb lines. I cannot imagine I’ll ever need it to determine or set slopes or inches/ft. In the real carpentry world we generally use a framing or speed square for those purposes. I have been using this level to set both prehung doors and jambs since I got it. It’s also great for dead on accurate outside corners. The other main use for me is setting kitchen base and upper cabinets. For absolute accuracy this level cannot be beat. Milwaukee provides a beautiful, padded, heavy duty carrying/storage case. These are interior pockets to store the charger, cord, shoulder strap and Quick Start Guild. The full length closure flap is secured by Velcro. There is a built in carrying handle and a detachable shoulder strap. On the down side I think this level is a bit on the heavy side, especially when compared to traditional box levels. For horizontal surfaces, I thought the digital screen, centered on the top edge, was easy to read and perfectly placed. However, when using this 6 ft level to set plumb, I found that the single, center mounted digital “vial” was very inconvenient. For example, a standard 6 ft bubble level has 2 plumb vials; one located toward either end. When setting a jamb this places a vial right at eye level. With the MILWAUKEE, I had to bend over to read it. I also had great difficulty reading this level in bright sunlight, even with the contrast and brightness set to the highest level. I found myself reaching for my bubble levels for outside work in the sun. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this level. It is no doubt a beautiful instrument, dead on accurate, and appears to be extremely durable. The case is top notch as is the cord and charger. However, it’s weight, lack of multiple displays for plumb, display washout in bright sunshine, and $300.00 cost definitely makes this a luxury item that most carpenters can do without. The Digital REDSTICK comes with a 3 year accuracy and tool warranty. The battery is warranted for 2 years. It is made in China.

Battery drains way to quick maybe if they make a longer lasting red lithium usb battery this will get higher reviews…but the lumens and quality are great just poor battery life and a little on the pricey side even for Milwaukee quality

Great flashlight, very handy specially when showing up to a call or site where the lighting is minimal. Goes great with the rest of my rechargeable headlamp, Rover lamp and additional charging kit.

This level is just plain AWSOME. I have to admit that an old school guy like myself was pretty reluctant about the purchase of this new tech device. This level is so accurate, that it makes me want to go back and re-check some of my bubble level measurements. Now I have a hard time with a cell phone. But learning how to use this level was a breeze. Just do what it tells you to do. That simple. The viewing screens are well made, and easy to read. The carrying case keeps it well protected. And I love the 72 inch reach.

In time, the digital age will catch up with even the most-basic tools. There is a level (pun intended) of getting used to this implementation, as it is easier to accept a bubble that is slightly off than to deal with a number that shows exactly how much off-level the surface actually is.This beautifully-made tool comes with its own storage bag. Essential, I think, because I don’t see myself abusing it like I do my old bubble level. The bag also provides a place to store the included USB charging cable and power adapter.By default it comes set to display in hundredths of a degree. I found it quite unnerving that the display, while set on a ‘level’ hard surface, at times fluctuated both up and down within its accuracy tolerance of .03, so that a reading of .24 degrees showed a reading from .21 to .27. Changing the accuracy to tenths, which is easily done, did not entirely remove this irritation, as the disply then fluctuated between .2 and .3.That said, once one has become used to working with the super-accuracy of this level, there’s no going back.

When my plumber used this flashlight on the pipes beneath my kitchen sink the pipe became practically transparent! This is the brightest flashlight I have ever seen. I bought three: One for our house emergency kit, one for the car, and another for my husband.

This level is absolutely incredible, one of those tools that I never realized could be so much better than the basic one I had used for years. My usual 2′ level works for many applications, but I have found that there are an incredible number of uses for a longer level, some that are easier than measuring and leveling individually, like hanging pictures down a hall, and some outdoor applications that would have been much more difficult, like leveling a garden wall on a slope, without this level. A friend also used it to level the surface of a table he built, which would have been difficult to complete without a level this size.I love all of my Milwaukee power tools, but this is the first I have used with a digital screen and I find it every bit as high quality as what I would expect from this brand. Top notch and easy to use, just make sure you have a good place to store it!

It’s a solid light , very bright and more yellowish light so you don’t blind yourself with the reflection in dark panels

It was a little larger than I thought it would be. Very bright and the charge last most of the work day.
