The Milwaukee 24 Inch Magnetic I-Beam Level is a well-made, sturdy level. Unlike plastic counterparts, this aluminum level will not bend when trying to use as a straight edge. It provides a solid profile to use when determining if a surface is level or plumb. Openings on the frame are large and makes it easy to determine pitch or unevenness of the surface you are working with. This is a US made tool and seems to be a long-lasting tool for your collection.

I love level! Levels are my one of my favorite type of tools; there’s just something exciting about getting that bubble right in between those lines. I have levels of all types; carpenter’s, plumber’s, torpedoes and boxes, metal and plastic. Nothing beats a good level and everyone should have multiple sizes. I picked this up for door jambs and small framing tasks and it’s simple; this thing is good-looking, durable, and accurate! I can’t help but love the simplicity of this as well, no gadgets or gizmos just 3 different spirit vials. Oh and that Milwaukee red is sublime! And that magnetic strip is great for storing it on your refrigerator, haha! If you’re looking for a big level for whatever tasks are on your list; check it out. It’s a great value, simple and rugged, like me.

Good level, a bit pricey compared to an Empire.

The Milwaukee 48 inch magnetic I-beam level appears to have a slightly thicker frame, but note it was compared to a major brand’s 24 inch level. It is magnetic which pipe fitters and steel workers may find as important feature whereas carpenters may not. The center horizontal vial has 1° and 2° pitch graduations. There is a vertical vial at each end which depending on your preference may seem redundant. If I had to make a suggestion or two on any changes, I would say make one of the vertical vials adjustable and change the end caps from plastic to a hard rubber.

This is a really great level that serves the demands of a busy neighborhood DIY and is built heavy to last. As advertised, it’s thicker than the regular ‘off the shelf’ level, you can really feel the heft to it. And the 1 and 2 degree marks on the bubble help give you a better idea of much or little your are off on perfect. Have already used it helping a neighbor put up a new shed and then making sure that studs were plumb and the shelves were level. And if I should be doing any work with steel studs or shelves, the magnetized rubber strip runs the complete length of the level, giving a very good grip. Definitely a big help when working by yourself, too!

Love this level so far. My previous 4′ level that I had for close to 20 years finally crapped out (bound to happen when you drop it once to often in 20 years). This Milwaukee tool looks like an excellent replacement. The level is solidly built with the typical I beam construction. The weight is nice. All of the bubble are easy to view. I particularly like the window in the top for the center bubble. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. I also like the 1 and 2 degree markers on the center level for when you pitching pipes for plumbing. I do not do a lot of work with steel framing, but can see how the magnet feature of this level wold be fantastic. The level easily sticks to the steel leaving our hands free (see attached pic). I think I’m going to be very happy with this tool for a very long time.

i think a 2 foot level is the most useful around the house. my 4 foot level is great for new construction and the like but around the house it is too big. this very solid 2 foot level now is the go to. the magnetic side is convenient if you are using it on pipes or conduit or ductwork. otherwise it is just another level.this level gets high marks for being very thick and stout as opposed to most i-beam levels and being made in the USA. the only complaint i have which is minor is that the magnet strip isn’t flush with the metal sides.

I am always looking for an opportunity to upgrade my tools with a Milwaukee product. This is another well made Milwaukee tool with a lot of well thought out features. It is well balanced and has a really strong magnet for working on metal surfaces – see pictures. The level bubbles are easy to read and the level has a lifetime warranty. Another great addition to my tool box.

I received the Milwaukee 48 in. Magnetic I-Beam Level it is all metal frame yet it’s light weight and build to handle use on the job site. The magnet edge easily holds it in place when used on ferrous metals. The center vial also has 1° and 2° pitch lines you can use to set pitch for runoff. The vials have impact resistant covers to protect them for the occasional drop or other mishaps that we all know can happen. And like all my Millwaukee tools I really am liking this level. They are also MADE IN THE USA with a limited lifetime warranty.

Great level. What else can I say. I really enjoy Milwaukee tools and this one is no exception. The bubbles are very clear and easy to read. There is a slot cut out for viewing the middle bubble when the level is not turned on its side. The magnet is probably the best feature. It is really strong. I had originally thought that the magnet would serve to simply keep it from tipping over and not offer all that much grip. But holy smokes, I stuck it upside down on a piece of metal in my garage and it snapped to the surface. No problem holding its own weight. Super impressed.

Magnet is strong without over powered. Is missing the numbers for measurements so that’s really the only con.

This is an excellent level with I-beam construction and three vials. The center vial has marks for drain pipe pitch by percentage. The 78″ length is great for making sure door frames are plumb, something I struggled doing with a 4′ level particularly making sure all points along the frame don’t vary as they do in many older houses. The full length magnetic strip made it east to plumb and level commercial storage racking. No problem with accuracy here.
