Milwaukee MLXP712 6’6” to 12’0” Red Stick Expandable Level – This level when used vertically will expand from 6’6” to 12’0” to plumb tall framed walls, when this level is used horizontally to level top plates, the maximum length will be 6’6”…The level has Sharp Site vial technology offering the best readability…This level is covered by a lifetime warranty as well as a lifetime accuracy guarantee…According to Milwaukee engineers the vials on this level are 10 times stronger than the vials used on Stabila levels…I tested this level using it in the horizontal position to level a (4) section of main switch gear with a Stabila digital level on top of this level, the bubble on this level was centered between the lines and the Stabila digital level displayed 0.0…To test plumb I checked the vertical on the front of the switch gear from the concrete floor to the bar joist with the Stabila digital held against the front of this level, the bubble was centered between the lines and the Stabila digital displayed 0.0…The level performed as indicated, intended and expected without any problems…

Great vial visibility. Extremely durable. Especially when closed. Stand outs so you can plumb a 12’ wall even with a sway brace in the way. When fully extended, don’t push hard as it will flex. But it will hold correct if you stand it vertically and touch top and bottom plates. For horizontal leveling its the best available at 6’6”, but has a little flex when extended.

This is an extremely heavy duty level when used at the 6.5′ length. I actually caught my kids using it as a bridge across two buckets (not allowed LOL) and wasn’t worried about it flexing or bending. It also expands to 12′ for plumbing tall walls. It has great clearly visible vials that are very accurate. I tested this level against a very expensive competitor and there was no variation in accuracy. However the Milwaukee is clearly much more durable. Important for me to note, When fully extended, I believe this level is meant only to plumb walls. Not to be used as a horizontal level. If you push on it when fully extended, there is some flex. If you are aware of this while plumbing a vertical 12′ wall, there is no issue. Just don’t push on it. Let it hold it’s form and it’s accurate. However, when closed to 6.5′, it just seems impossible to flex it. It’s extremely stout. Highly recommend.

I really like the fact that this box level expands from 6-1/2’ to 12’. This saves me from buying and storing different sized box levels. I had to level an above-ground pool and I didn’t have this level at the time, so I had to fasten two 6-foot 2×4’s and placed my 4-foot level at different points to make sure the screeding I was doing was level all the way across. Having this box level would have made things SO much easier!! Adjusting to the different lengths is a cinch! Just unlock the button, open the box level to the length you need, and press the lock button. Despite its size, this box level is super light. The magnified bubble makes it very easy to read. This box level even comes with two standoffs that screw in using a Phillips screwdriver. These standoffs come in handy when having to level off areas where you can’t get flush because there is a 2×4 in the way. If you look at the picture below, I used this box level to see how off my garage door was (it was very off vertically). I have the bag as well so I can keep this box level protected when not in use.

Extremely heavy duty Level. If your looking for a sturdy 6′ level that occasionally would be used for moderately accurate leveling up to 12′ this would be perfect for you. The quality is great, the only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because fully extended the extension piece will move about 1/2″ out of plane from the rest of the level. So if your tolerance for whatever your doing will allow 1/2″ “slop” , for lack of a better word, at 12′ then this will work great for you. If you need something more accurate for 12′ spans I would find an alternative. The locking mechanism works great and the bubbles are clear and protected.

I am using this level to install a ground mounted solar array. In the past the only way I had to get all of the pipe columns level was to shoot them one at a time with a transit. What with setting up the transit and taking shots on each column this was very time consuming. It also required a second person to hold the stadia rod. With this level I can almost instantly level the pipe columns since the maximum spacing is 11 feet. Additionally, I can do it all by myself. In the future I will be using it to do framing but is worth its price just for installing solar systems. One additional use that I have found is for a straight edge. This level is so tight that even extended it is solid as a rock and where else can I find a 12 foot straight edge?! It is a bit heavy but that is to be expected for something this long if you want it to be exact.

The Milwaukee 78 in. to 144 in. REDSTICK Expandable Box Level is great for framing or any project where you need to level a longer distance that a normal size level can handle. This level is made very rugged to withstand impacts at your worksite. It offers dual vials for ease of use when you have it extended. also it has SAE and Metric measurements for either standard.

I have had stabila level’s since I started my company but as soon as Milwaukee calmed there level was 10X stronger I had to get one. Not only is the red stick stronger, it is very easy to read. A++

My Milwaukee 72″ Level that extends out to 144 inches (12 Feet) is a great tool to properly verify level & plumb before setting the sill plate and or wall. The bubble viles are very large & easy to read. This level is Very Sturdy but not so heavy it’s a burden to use. Extends easily but a slide of the lock & extending the arm on either side. There are both Metric & Sae measurements for easy reading. Great for framing when building here around the outbuildings or adding an addition of a lean two for further storage options. One thing for sure not storing this bad boy out in the lean two… Would be upset if it was lost or stolen.
