This is a well built, heavy duty level. Its magintic so when working on metal it stays in place. I used it to help lay out a brick patio. With it’s ability to extend out to 78 inches it gave me a greater reach. Even when it is fully extend out it is still showed little flex. It is heavy to work with so keep that in mind. If you need a level that will take the drops and bangs you get when working outdoors or at a construction site this is it. If you want to hang a picture maybe not so much.

Now this is a level. I wouldn’t say it’s for everyone but there is a Milwaukee “Red Stick” level for everyone. This is a 48 inch level x 2 as it extends another 30 inches by way of a very ingenious telescoping process. The extension part can’t slide out accidentally as there’s a built in detente that keeps it in place when not in use. The detente is adjustable for ease of pulling the extension out.If you’re a metal worker, you need this. It has very strong rare earth magnets along the base to keep it put. It also has extra large vials for easy viewing.Made entirely of steel (of course except the vials) has a mirror finish for extreme accuracy. This is a rather heavy level at nearly 10 pounds and is a little awkward to carry as the handles need to be off center. This causes it to be off balance when carrying so you wouldn’t want to use it for every job. However, there is a full line of more practical levels for the average user. You won’t find a finer level anywhere.

The Milwaukee Red-stick level is a good tool when installing such things as kitchen cabinets thenworking in confined and also unconfined lengths This is a specialty level that can be used to measure to measure lengths of 48 inches to 78 inches, instead of needing 2 separate levels to do the same job.The only disadvantage is the the level is somewhat heavier than a standard level, especially when holding the level under the upper cabinets. .

I gave this to my son, who is a professional cabinetmaker, for his comments. He said, “My critique of the level is that it is exceptionally well-made, if not a slight touch of overkill. The level is a little bulky and heavier than I would prefer, but as a level that can do multiple sizes it functions very well. I only give it 4 stars because of the excessive weight and unnecessarily tall height.”I do like that it is accurate whether it is on edge or laying down. At nearly 12 pounds, I understand his concern when he is carrying tools onto a jobsite.

This is a solid and function level, although a little heavy at 8 lbs. It extends from 48″ to 78″ which gives you a lot of versatility and just one level for two types of jobs. It also makes it easier to move through job sites compared to a 72 or 78″ level. The level itself is built very well and of tough construction. The extender has a lock on it which holds steady and can be adjusted with a flat-head for control. The extender arm lets you know how far out it is extended. When extended, the level remains sturdy and accurate. The bubbles are very accurate and easy to read from the top or sides. The magnets are incredibly powerful and hold the level tight to a metal surface. Overall, great level but the bulkiness and weight may may using it tough in some situations. Milwaukee made up for this somewhat with the grip openings.

This a great level. To demonstrate how well the magnets work, my son put on the wall corner so it would stick to the metal corn form. It held on and did not slide, and this is not a light level it has some heft to it. The expansion section slide nice and evening, but does require two hands (or at least for my son and I to do). I now have four different sizes of levels and this one will work great when I need to make sure something is level for more than 3.5 feet.

A super rugged level for use in framing large objects such as windows or doors during the rough construction phase of commercial type buildings. Includes powerful magnets for use with metal frames. The three bubble type indicators are designed for easy viewing and well protected from accidental damage. But it probably should be pointed out that any bubble type indicator is a bit subjective to an individuals eyesight and that no surfaces being measured are perfectly accurate anyway and technically what you are striving for is the “average” of the entire length of the target which is why it is always best to use the longest level possible. This one allows for lengths greater than average. The ruggedness with this one is built does not actually increase its accuracy but more to protect it from harsh environments which might damage or ruin its effectiveness.
