Machine-made of 100% cotton fiber, this 24″ x 40′ roll of Entrada Rag Natural 290 from Moab offers a natural single-sided matte surface well suited to use with pigment- or dye-based inks. The paper features a basis weight of 290 gsm along with a thickness of 21.5 mil and water resistance to ensure longevity of your print. The paper also has a measured brightness of 84% and does not use any optical brightening agents and is acid-free to ensure colors remain accurate over time. Additionally, it comes on a 3″ core.

I have a Canon IPF6400 printer and used the profile Moab provided. The color doesn’t seem just right to me and the contrast feels a little off. Will test again and maybe buy a custom profile, which I would rather not have to do.

The paper is absolutely beautiful. The tone is beautiful, the paper is smooth and a nice matte while still preserving true blacks. My only tiny, no big deal warning to someone who is buying is is make sure that when you are printing, make sure that you are careful with the print. The paper will dent and scratch pretty easily. Just be aware of the fragile paper surface. Other than that, completely gorgeous.

I have recently moved over to using this paper from Canson Platine as my favorite paper. There are still some photos that benefit from a Baryte type surface but not many. I now look at the non-matte papers and dislike the sheen. Matte papers have come a long way in the last few years and Entrada has been amazing. I am just finishing my printing for a one man show I am having in Bancroft, Ontario and 95% is on Entrada Rag Natural and Entrada Rag Natural Bright. Some of these prints are 40×60 and the colours and the detail are magnificent. Make sure you get or make a good profile, work carefully, and you will not be dissappointed.
