I recently purchased the Trio Max portable monitor. I bought one monitor to set up with my M1 Macbook Air. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the monitor. It immediately enhanced my work experience and offers exceptional mobility and a variety of setup options. My only issues with the monitor are that it is unable to connect to my computer through a USB meaning that I cannot use my normal USB adaptor (as the Mac does not have USB ports) and the monitor at the same time. Additionally, while not incredibly problematic, the resolution on the monitor is not as sharp as I would have hoped but is more than sufficient for the work I am using it for. Overall, this is a 4-star product and one that I would highly recommend.

I love this product. I originally purchased it so I can work while away from home. I haven’t stopped using it after coming back. I put my extra table monitor away. This allows me to move around all over the apartment and be productive. Only negative is that it’s a bit flimsy. I’m extra cautious cuz I feel like I’ll break it if I’m not careful.

The screen assembly’s protective casing uses magnets to connect to metal plates which you mount on the back of your laptop. The screen slides out from the casing. Before you mount the metal plates, read the instructions and be very careful that you put the plates in the right place so that the screen can slide out and then angle towards you. There are 3 sets of plates – so you can mount the screen on 3 different devices, or in my case you can use the second set because you didn’t read the instructions and put them in the wrong place the first time so that the screen couldn’t be angled. You can snap 2 units together so that you have 3 screens on your laptop. I am a stickler for color so I used the DataColor sensor to calibrate the Trio Max to my internal screen. Bottom line is that this is worth every penny to someone who needs the portability of laptop but also needs more screen real estate.

The second screen works great when presenting or sharing my main screen during virtual meetings. Also increases productivity when working on my main screen while displaying reference materials on the Trio.

I use this as a second monitor. Love it. makes my life easier. Great product.

I love this thing. My job as a remote sales person needs multiple screens and this works perfectly. The dual connector is a lifesaver for those with few USB ports.

The trio max monitors I bought are brilliant. They were easy to set up and work well with my laptop. The weight of the monitors meant I buy the kick stand because it was easier than having my laptop screen and the monitors sinking down when all connected. It is a real shame there is not a work around to connect you iPhone to the monitors. I’ve still been flying interstate for work and it would be easier to project my virtual desktop from my phone than to unpack and repack all of my carry on luggage. If this could be resolved it would be a brilliant addition to an already extremely useful device. Not being able to connect to iPhone is the only draw back.

Doesn’t work with my Android phone but works well with my laptop. Easy to use.

This is a great buy when you can’t carry multiple monitors. It makes working on just the laptop easy. Only downside is the added weight on the back of the laptop, be careful moving your laptop with the screen on it.

I’ve just received my replacement trio max in the mail. The one I originally ordered cropped a good portion of the screen off on all sides. When I got on the phone with mobile pixels support they informed me that a batch of trio max monitors went out that had a bug that would do this for Apple computers. Today I’ve received my replacement and it has the same problem:(

This is amazing portable monitor. I used it for about one week. It suits my laptop perfect. I no longer have to carry a hub to convert. I dont need to find a desk it is going to fit. I can use it everywhere, even though I am working from home now. I think it would be a great portable monitor especially for the people who travel a lot for work!!!

Those of you with work laptops, how many times have you tried to show something on your laptop and said “Sorry, one screen.” or “Let’s take this to my desk where I have multiple screens.” How often would you cram all the windows together, or clumsily fumble back and forth between apps to demonstrate a simple issue? It may not be a problem in quarantine, but it’s one I won’t be dealing with when it’s over. As someone living with children, this is a must-have for those of us without a home office. Now I can work at full capacity no matter where I’m hiding! That said there’s room for quality-of-life improvements, like painted or backlit buttons. My closet is dimly lit, and so I found myself fumbling over the buttons until I finally learned to put stickers on them.A kickstand is also on my wishlist, because the monitor does add a little weight — the laws of physics deem this unavoidable (I checked). My work laptop carries it like a champ, but my gaming laptop doesn’t have as much tension in the hinge, so it falls back sometimes. A kickstand that pops out from behind the monitor would be nice.As someone who works with a lot of spreadsheets and data, I can’t recommend this enough. 1 month after purchase, I give it a 4.5 out of 5. I’ll definitely be buying another.

The good: great screens, great cable management, weight, love the magnetic attachment vs the competition, appearance and 3 way viewing for conferences. The bad: flimsy connector between the 2 screens, no way to charge my computer once the two power/data cables are attached. Once the screens slide out the bracket is not sturdy enough to hold their weight so you need to rest them on the table.

I must say that I was surprised by the presentation of the product. Premium packaging (love the creativity in adding the installation illustrations on the interior of the package!). The instructions guide was easy to read and you can see the quality of the paper.I was a bit annoyed when setting up the magnets though. It says to place the metal plates over the magnets that are inbuilt in the TRIO but in reality, the opposite polarity of the magnets was repelling the plates when they touched against each other and I couldn’t attach the TRIO to my laptop properly. So I removed the plates from the trio and just stuck the plates on my laptop. After I did that, the ‘in-built’ magnets from the TRIO had a much stronger grip on the laptop plates, and it worked perfectly.Overall, very happy with this product! The screen brightness and colours are good. They definitely thought of every aspect of the user experience. Well done guys!

I had been looking for an additional screen since I have been working from home. I had originally purchased the SideTrak, but after hours on the phone with them and IT at my workplace, I unfortunately couldnt get it to work (also hated that it was smaller than my laptop screen). Then a few weeks later, I found this gem. I have a brand new MacBook, so I was able to plug in and use immediately, no calls with IT needed… bonus is this can be pulled out on the left or the right side and its the same size screen as my laptop. Huge win in increasing productivity. It does add some weight to the laptop, but nothing unmanageable.

Very useful when using multiple applications at once.

For the price of this printable screen add-on, save your money! Overpriced! It lags when you are typing over in that portion of the screen. I noticed that the color isnt as clear and it displays more of a fuzzy image. Additionally, it slows my computer down. If time had not run out on returning this screen, I certainly would have.

I like that I have 2 more screens to work with and they are mobile. I will be using then in my audio studio to be able to have the mixer on on window while in the edit window on another. Then I can have another window open for any references I’m using!

It was super simple to install and turn on. I’m very happy with the monitor because it has increased my productivity and it’s portable! The photo attached shows me using it on my lap. I don’t recommend doing this too often since it does wobble a bit due to its weight (hard table surfaces work best); but if you must, you can maneuver it to stay still.
