I needed to cut plugs for a bookshelf I’m building. I didn’t really want to buy a drill press so I didn’t know what to do. These plug cutters were recommended to me by a friend. I was very skeptical of plug cutters that didn’t need a drill press but I’m very glad i bought this item. It works great with a cordless drill as long as you use a firm hand. I would definitely recommend this to someone else!

The self centering point is spring loaded and it compresses as the cutter digs. But I only made two plugs before the centering point retracted all the way and wouldn’t come back out. So I have to return it next time I go to the store. Maybe mine was a bad batch but it worked wonderfully until the tip got stuck so it no longer centered for me.
