The product is very thin. It is a slightly loose though, and you can definitely notice it as you type. But it does provide protection from dirt. I haven’t used it long enough to notice any grease build up, but clean-up instructions are fairly easy to follow.

I’ve owned and used the moshi clearguard for almost two weeks now. While no such guard will equal the natural feel of the keyboard, for those paranoid about keeping your MBP clean (I’ve got the MBP 17 unibody), the slight loss in feel is totally worth it. The guard hugs the keys well, and it’s super thin so it really doesn’t take any additional pressure to press the keys. So far mine stays in place just fine, except for when I sometimes press the right arrow key at the bottom right of my keyboard – now and then then cover slips up a bit, presumably because my pinkie is sort of pulling away from the corner after I press the key. If you press straight down on the button and release straight up, there’s no problem at all. But this is very minor, and hardly a serious complaint. The great thing is that it doesn’t take long for you to literally see the build up of oil and dirt on the clearguard, which would otherwise be going directly on your keys. Everytime I see this I’m relieved to be using the product, which can be cleaned. All in all, definitely recommend. (Oh, but I do think it’s overpriced. $10 seems more reasonable to me.)

This fits like a glove. I am not a very fast typist so not sure how it would be for a fast typist. Keeps keys clean, seals crevices from crumbs. Not sure how it would work with a spill, hope I don’t have to find out.

It’s good because it keeps your keyboard safe from dirty, but it makes typing a little different. Gets ugly really quick, but it is easy to clean. It’s not mandatory to buy one, but it helps and I do recommend.

I use a cover to keep my keys clean and had high hopes for my new unibody Macbook Pro and this cover. It does a good job of keeping the area clean but it does contribute to more errors in typing and a more difficult time in pressing the keys. I will continue to use it, however.

I’ve used keyboard protectors on my laptop computers for many years, but the ones I had were made of silicone. Although they did protect the keyboard from dirt getting inside, they always left a shiny residue on the keys which didn’t always come off. That isn’t what I expected from something that was supposed to protect the keys. I had hesitated to purchase the Moshi ClearGuard because of the price, but now that I did, I can say that it’s well worth the investment. It fits the keys much better than the silicone skins and does not leave any residue on the keys whatsoever. It’s also thinner than the silicone, so it isn’t as noticeable when typing as the silicone is, and it doesn’t block the lighting from the backlit keys. I wish I had tried it out several MacBooks ago!

Lightweight skin over new MBP-Retina keyboard, works fine. Would like one with a bit of adhesion at least around the edges. Tilt the machine and the protector falls off; slide fingers near the edge, and it lifts, a bit too easily. But it works. Recommended for a new machine.
