Connect a variety of USB 3.0 Type-A, HDMI, and SD media card peripherals to your 15.4″ MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (Late 2016), 13.3″ MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (Late 2016), 13.3″ MacBook Pro without Touch Bar (Late 2016), or 12″ MacBook with Retina Display (2015-2017) using the 2-Port USB 3.0 Type-C Multimedia Adapter Hub from Moshi. Constructed from anodized aluminum that helps to minimize electromagnetic interference, this dock contains two 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 Type-A ports that not only transfer data, but also charge connected devices, and one media card slot that supports UHS-I SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. Additionally, there is one HDMI port that allows you to output 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) video @ 30 Hz and Full HD (1920 x 1080) video @ 60 Hz, as well as multi-channel digital audio on compatible devices. This adapter can also be used with Macs equipped with Thunderbolt 3 and is fully compatible with plug-and-play, meaning no additional drivers are needed for use. Connectivity with your host system is provided using an integrated USB 3.0 Type-C cable.
Please bear in mind that this adapter does not support the Apple Super Drive.

HDMI port works only 50% of the time and connector cable can get pretty bent, use caution. Only problems with it.

It works beautifully on the newer MacBook Pro computers with the thunderbolt cable outlet. It also has an SD slot which is now missing on the MacBooks, as well as two USB outlets and an HDMI.

Although I am enjoying my new MackBook Pro, one of the things I dislike is that Apple has, on many models of the MackBook Pro, the important interfaces like HDMI and SD card readers in order to make it lighter/thinner. So we are required to purchase tools like the Moshi. I’m not crazy about having one more thing to keep up with but it’s a necessary tool in my bag. This device has, so far, worked flawlessly. I am able to use the SD card reader and transfer video/photos with speed and ease thru the USB 3.0 Type-C connector. Likewise, being able to connect to external monitors via HDMI has worked without fail. This device is a MUST-HAVE if your laptop does not have those interfaces built in.

Brand new mac would not recognize this device.

The USB are fast, the HDMI works great and having a SCXC card reader is a must. I know Apple saved money by only putting 2 USB-C Thunderbolt ports on the new 2018 MacBook Air and this solves the issue of missing ports at a reasonable price.

It’s super fast and super convenient especially with the SD slot, it’s upload speeds are pretty quick. There’s not issues of it over heating or getting to hot like other adapters when you’re using multiple slots. The price is a steal!

I’m having problems with this using a new 16 MacBookPro. When the MacBook goes to sleep and then wakes up the display and the MacBook screens flash uncontrollably until I unplug the Moshi and reboot the MacBookPro. I’ve tried updating the firmware without success.
