I bought it so that I could fall asleep listening to podcasts through a pillow speaker without disturbing my wife. Alas, about three quarters of the time that I plug it in, the audio does not route to the speaker, instead it comes out of the Pixel 6 Pro’s external speaker. Does the product not work or am I doing something wrong?

I bought the official (Google store lists the same product) USB-C adapter, and yet this still has issues. About half the time I plug this into the phone, my phone will still stay on speaker instead of using aux. Not the biggest deal, the fix is simply the plug/unplug the USB-C that’s going into your car charger. But in terms of QoL, any additional work is a big no-no. And for the price of this product, $40 plus, it should be working 100% of the time. The better situation – if all phones still had a 3.5mm jack, this adapter wouldn’t even exist, but Google/Samsung/Apple decided we should all spend more money on cables and adapters, so here we are. Altogether, I think this product should be 1/3 of the price or less if it’s not going to work 100% of the time.

Perfect for my low-tech car. Charging is normal speed, and aux quality is good with no background buzzing. Needs to be plugged in to my phone before i start my car otherwise it isn’t recognized by my phone as aux but will charge.
