I just upgraded my Netgear CM1000 to Xfinity approved Motorola MB8611. I followed the instructions from manual and able to set-up the modem w/ out any help from Customer Service easy peasy. So far, I didn’t have any issues and uploading the webrowser was snappy or quick upload. The reason I purchase this modem is for future proof ( or don’t have to worry to update maybe after 3-5 years) and fits my budget.

This modem was one of the supported devices for Comcast’s 1.2G internet service, but since I switched to it I have had nothing but trouble. It drops at least 1-2 times per day, and sometimes 6-8 times. A simple Google search for ‘Motorola MB8611 issues comcast’ will yield dozens of posts discussing similar problems. Since I work from home most days and am on Zoom constantly, this is a huge problem.
