This cable modem comes compatible with a wide variety of cable Internet service providers including Comcast XFINITY, Time Warner Cable, and other providers. The modem features a single coax connector to receive the incoming cable Internet signal and four Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect Ethernet-enabled devices directly to your network. Additionally, users can take advantage of Wi-Fi connectivity, as this modem/router supports the 802.11ac Wi-Fi networking standard and operates on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies.
Once connected, you benefit from 16 downstream channels offering a maximum download speed of 686 Mbps and 4 upstream channels supporting a maximum upload speed of 123 Mbps. Users can also monitor the status of the connection and power thanks to dedicated LED indicators for Ethernet link, connection status, upstream link, downstream link, and power. Should any modifications be needed to the connection settings a web-based utility simplifies the process of managing various aspects of the network.

I recently switched to Optimum and after about a month of service with their supplied equipment I decided to purchase my own. B&H is fantastic. Shipping was very quick and this modem/ router appears to have better range and speed than the original. Setup was easy. I was able to do everything on Optimum’s website. It took about 15 minutes. I did a ton of research to replace my Spectrum modem, which is not that great when it came to wifi calling, which i depend on. While most after market cable modems are good this Motorola has a solid history of reliability and good components. It was super easy to setup and has been super reliable.

This modem/router is perfect for the average user that isn’t interested in gaming or has a large family. We only needed the 400 mb. package from x-finity for our needs and this will handle it with no trouble. The DOCSIS 3.1 is what you need if you are going to need if your going bigger, but for the price this works great.

I’ve owned plenty of routers and modems so i do know what I’m talking about. This modem has great specs, good look, good amount of outlets and WiFi on/off switch all of which i really appreciate. All of those great features need to be paired with a good interface which this thing lacks. It’s ok for an ordinary every day user, but if you need to make some tweaks such as assign static IPs, open ports etc… this is the worst interface I’ve ever seen.
