Take your gaming experience to the next level by including the MSI Mag X570 Tomahawk WIFI AM4 ATX Motherboard in your high-performance computer build. Designed for gamers, enthusiasts, and content creators, this motherboard is powered by the AMD X570 chipset and supports 2nd and 3rd generation AMD Ryzen processors with the AM4 socket. It takes full advantage of the large PCIe 4.0 data bandwidth to deliver high performance for tasks such 3D rendering, video editing, and more. Up to 128GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM, reaching 4600 MHz when overclocked, can be installed across four memory slots. The ATX motherboard also features advanced cooling and supports up to three M.2 SSDs and six SATA III storage drives, which can be put into RAID 0, 1, or 10 configuration. Its two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots can accommodate the 2-Way AMD CrossFireX configuration to maximize your system’s graphical capabilities for high frame rates, connecting 4K monitors, and faster video rendering times. Alternatively, the built-in HDMI port allows you to take advantage of integrated CPU graphics. Two additional PCIe 3.0 x1 slots are available for compatible expansion cards.
Connect compatible peripherals to the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports to transfer data at up to 10 Gb/s. Play online games and stream video using the fast 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port or the built-in 802.11ax Wi-Fi, which can reach wireless data speeds of up to 2.4 Gb/s with compatible devices. The X570 Tomahawk WIFI also delivers deep and immersive 5.1-channel surround sound through the Realtek ALC1200 audio codec. You can customize your computing experience using the RGB headers to connect light strips, which can be synced with MSI Mystic Light-compatible peripherals such as mice and keyboards.

Overall, a great board! It is a little tight in the CPU/RAM area, the beQuiet Dark Rock 4 cooler barely fits with my 2 RAM modules, so when I upgrade RAM, I’ll have to buy 2 new modules, rather than adding an additional 2. That’s my only complaint about it though. The rest is fantastic, and very friendly to my multiple internal and external drives (2 NVMe, 4 HDD, 2 Blu-Ray drives, 4 external HDD). Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is fantasticly responsive. The BIOS is great, with options for CPU and RAM overclocking, fan control, and an easy overclock for beginners who want a little extra power from their PC. I’ve always loved MSI’s BIOS. Pros: – Beautiful design – Sturdy build – Excellent options for upgradability – Plenty of support for internal and external storage options – Active cooling for warmer components – Plenty of USB headers Cons: – RAM slots pretty close to the CPU socket, not much clearance for larger heat sink and fan

The board is awesome; power delivery is solid; affordable launch price, etc. yada yada you know all about those from tech review outlets already BUT what none of them told me was one flaw that almost ruined my day: _the PS/2 port does not work!_ No, it works, electrically, just that the physical connection doesn’t work properly with that built-in IO shield. The shield is too thick and its hole too small to fit most PS/2 keyboard plugs. I have an iconic 1994 IBM Model M, and the plug did not fit in this board. I bought a PS/2 extension cord, and that one did not fit either. I had to use a knife to shave down the plastic on the extension cord’s connector to make it fit.

I ended up getting this card over the X450 for the additional ports and built in WiFi / Bluetooth; Seemed to be marginally the same price as the X450 and a Wifi card. I was really hesitant about having a fan on the chipset, as low fan noise was a priority of my build, but the chipset fan is quiet when it runs, and to be honest hardly ever turns on to begin with. Overall, very happy with it.

Great features, great thermals. Probably a little more than what most gamers need, but the WiFi and front panel USB C header was something that I really needed, so the extra $50 was well spent in my opinion. B&H always has great support and fast shipping, arrived in California within 3 days. Highly recommend, although a decent B550 for under $200 is really what most people need
