The combination of the ultrawide screen and 1800R curvature allows you to become more immersed in your favorite games with the MSI Optix MAG341CQ 34″ 21:9 Curved LCD Gaming Monitor.
The Vertical Alignment (VA) panel features a UWQHD 3440 x 1440 resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio as well as 178° viewing angles. The 100 Hz refresh rate allows you to keep up with fast-paced games, such as first-person shooters and fighting games. The screen also features a 3000:1 static contrast ratio and a 250 cd/m² of brightness. The display also covers 110% of the sRGB color space.
Connect to your computer via the HDMI, DisplayPort, or DVI inputs. If your computer has an AMD graphics card, you can take advantage of the built-in FreeSync technology, which syncs your monitor’s refresh rate to your GPU’s frames per second to eliminate screen tearing. This monitor is compatible with VESA mounts, but requires the MSI VESA Kit (sold separately).

This is my first MSI display purchase. I grabbed it for a quick work display to accompany a MacBook Pro for larger real estate and paid retail ($379.99 at the time). Physical appearance is as expected, unboxes just fine. I really dislike the rear connector panel cover, the plastic has to be forced in and out, it feels far too violent for a display. I ended up not putting it back on after having to remove it for a second time. Switching between inputs is very, very, very buggy, almost unusable. I have an HDMI MacBook and a DisplayPort laptop connected. Switching between the two takes a surprisingly long time and I, more so than not, have to disconnect the switching-from signal for the change to actually happen. My MacBook absolutely hates this display, almost never locks EDID. As a live video professional, it’s extremely annoying. Colors and contrast on this display are not great, but that’s nearly expected. Even running hardware-calibrated color settings results in an extremely unrealistic picture. None of my hardware supported refresh rates above 60Hz despite several PCs I tried supporting 240Hz, including AMD graphics. The lack of USB and audio support are minor inconveniences but noticed. For the price, I could at least get a display that has a height-adjustable stand, which would be nice. All in all, an okay display at an okay price. Not impressed, just processed the RMA to return it.

Excellent image and very good refresh rate at 100 mhz. I have it connected to my Mac Mini 2018 and the image is flawless. MSI monitors are the best

This monitor performs flawlessly with my new PC build. I have an MSI b450i motherboard (mini ITX) for my very first PC build that me and my daughter did. The monitor makes images and videos come to life. And the gaming experience is dynamic. Ever since we acquired this model, we do not like playing on the PS4 console that is connected to an HD TV. This monitor along with our new build has our PS4 collecting dust. 🙂

I purchased this monitor primarily for flying flight sims and space sims. For some reason, monitors of this size were scarce when I turned to B&H who had one in stock at a competitive price. They sent one to me straight away. It arrived on my doorstep one day prior to the expected delivery date in packaging that was in excellent condition. Unboxing and setup was straight forward except for one problem. The monitor did not detect a signal using an HDMI setup with known-good cable and GPU. I switched over to a dvi setup and the monitor worked fine. I was almost to the point of hassling with a return when I tried using the HDMI cable that shipped with the monitor. HDMI worked fine using that cable. So be advised that this monitor may be finicky if a certain HDMI cable is used (oddly, that first HDMI cable works fine with two other monitors, but not this monitor). The picture is terrific and AMD FreeSync is icing on the cake. Tom’s Hardware reviewed this monitor and during testing found the best settings for color, brightness, contrast, etc. I took their advice and am using their recommended settings. The result is a very bright, colorful display with plenty of contrast. The monitor does not wobble thanks to the robust stand. The controls and menus seem well thought out and easy to use. It has been a perfect monitor for demanding simulators and I have every reason to believe it will be fine for other types of games. In summary, an excellent tear-free display at a reasonable price point. I’d buy this monitor again from B&H.

It’s obviously not top of the line but it’s got good specs and looks great. If I have one complaint, it’s that I wish this monitor had more inputs.

You really couldn’t ask for more from a curved monitor at the price and for just casual gaming especially if you’re coming from playing on just a regular TV, it’s perfect.
