The bulbs are low-voltage LEDs that are energy-efficient, long lasting and cool to the touch. Included is a foot pedal switch to control 9 different light colors and actions. This is the 7th tree I have ordered over the years of the National Tree Company brand and it is the MOST realistic of all the trees I have received of the National Tree Company brand.My only reservation is that a couple reviews mentioned the tree is not as full as the picture shows, but because of all the tips and branches this tree has, it takes a LOT longer to fluff to get to look like the photo than most trees. After fluffing my tree actually looks BETTER than the photo shows on the website, and the color is a more realistic green than what shows in the photo. I’ve included a photo of mine fully fluffed without the lights on or decorations to give people a sense what the tree itself looks like.The pleasant surprise is that the tree has different lighting options than the previous National Tree Christmas Trees have had in the past that I’ve ordered. The two new options are: 1) On the clear option, you have a click and then about every 20th or so bulb slow twinkles 2) On the multi color option you also have a click where about every 20th or so bulb slow twinkles. This really gives the tree a magical feeling and the random twinkle is gentle and slow so it’s almost like a starry sky effect.Plus Home Depot has the best price anywhere!
