The changing colors match the tree it was made to be purchased with. The star itself is beautiful; however, the very top light is not bright. That top bulb is barely burning. I do not have the time or energy to go through the hassle of seeking a replacement and that may be the idea of the company.

We ordered and received the tree, that this mates with, not knowing this was available. Upon reviewing the National Tree website I noticed it as an add-on to our tree. I called them and they said it could be ordered through Home Depot, so we did. You must have the tree with the mating connector, and this piece fits that connector. Once installed, it lights up following the pattern set by the floor switch that controls the tree light mode. Installation is fairly easy, it comes with a short plastic pole and two green zip ties that attach to the top vertical tree point. We like the new addition to our new tree, Merry Christmas to all!

The gold details in the picture on the website are not on the star we recieved and I’m disappointed in that. The star has some designs on it but it’s all clear plastic and not visible from any reasonable distance. The electronics function perfectly with the electronics in the tree. I wish there were a setting for clear lights on the star with colored lights on the tree but it doesn’t have that setting. Every featured setting does work perfectly and it’s so nice how it plugs right into the tree.We’ve had the star on the tree for three weeks. It’s on all day every day and it works perfect every day.Buying from Home Depot was simple and delivery took about a week.All in all we are satisfied.

The star is clear not gold. I really like it. It changes color with the tree lights. It was a little wonky to attach to the tree since you have to attach a green plastic adaptor to the main tree pole. Looks great!

The star hooks directly to the provided tree connection since it is a National Tree Company tree we are putting it on. The lights are also both clear and multi and they do whatever the tree lights do, which is great. However, the picture provided is not what the start truly looks like. We bought this not only because of the connection and how it works but because it is shown in the picture to be gold and clear. The star is just clear plastic and the bulbs can be see directly through the plastic. When the lights are not on the star is very plain and not very pleasing to the eye. Would have given it just 3 stars for this, but when the lights are on it is beautiful.

The one we got had no gold coloring at all–it was just a clear plastic star. The lights connected to our tree and worked very well, switching from white to multicolor as we changed the setting for the tree. Installation was a little more complicated than expected (zip ties and a green extension tube).
