With support for a wide variety of color standards and a 14-bit 3D LUT, the PA243W-BK-SV 24.1″ 16:10 Wide Gamut IPS Monitor from NEC is designed to ensure you receive accurate on screen color representation.
In addition to the wide color gamut supported by this IPS (In-Plane Switching) display, users can also take advantage of five programmable Picture Mode profiles to match the content on the display. Additionally, picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture capabilities allow you to view two sources alongside one another to compare content.
Setup and configuration of the NEC PA243W-BK-SV is simple as it comes equipped with DisplayPort, DVI-D, HDMI, and VGA inputs as well as a built-in USB 3.1 hub. Once configured, viewers can marvel at the 1900 x 1200 resolution display with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 350 cd/m² brightness rating, an 8 ms response time, and support for up to 1.07 billion displayable colors to ensure color sharpness and accuracy. This IPS panel can also be tilted, swiveled, and pivoted into place to take advantage of the 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles.

First of all they should not be selling SpectraView with this monitor because there is a know issue that it does not work with display port or HDMI. Now I can’t even get the monitor to connect to my MacBook Pro.

This is my second NEC PA series multi-sync wide gamut monitor (my first is 10 years old and functions like it was new). The monitor with color calibration is reasonably priced and great for photo and video editing. It is a shame that Sharp has decided to discontinue wide gamut color monitors after acquiring NEC. The “low” gamut monitors that they produce may function well with the techniques currently used to trick your eyes into “seeing” wide gamut but they are useless for photo editing.

I’m very satisfied with the purchase, you can feel the difference in quality on the little things, for example the turning mechanism for the monitor is silky smooth compared to my other monitors. The spectraview 2 software is very quick and easier to use than my other calibration software so its very comfortable to use.

Beautiful monitor! I have absolutely no complaints at all. I have seen some reviews that mention something about a known issue with HDMI or DisplayPort inputs – I have not experienced that at all. All inputs work great. MAC OS users with USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 will need to purchase a 3rd party adapter to get an image (one not from Apple as they only support compatibility within Apple products) but that is the only caveat that I have encountered. I would highly recommend this display for anyone with color critical/digital photography need.
