Very simple to operate on or off. I made beef and pork jerky at the same time it has a lot of space. It is a little noisy at first like a microwave running but then we just ignored it.

Just made my first batch of beef jerky out of a bottom round roast. I used 2 pounds of beef on four of the trays, rotated them halfway through and it was done in around 6 hours. I used the Nesco jerky seasoning, also purchased at HD and it makes pretty good jerky. For first time users, read the instructions and just keep an eye on it until you’re used to the process. My wife was skeptical of the idea but going through the recipe book gave her some ideas and I think she’ll be using it now and again. I will probably be buying the jerky gun kit as well.Some people aren’t fond of the noise the fan makes but it’s tolerable to me, no worse than our microwave.

The dehydrator was pictured and described as a 7 tray dehydrator. There were only 4 trays when I went to pick it up. After much “discussion” with another party, the sales associate was able to give me a discount of $5.00. This sales associate was extremely helpful. The dehydrator is great. I love it. The picture and description need to be changed.
