The instructions could be a little clearer as far as setup goes, but otherwise this product is great. I’d recommend playing around with temperatures and times instead of just going with what the book says, since water and sugar content as well as thickness can all affect the outcome.

great product! I’ve been making jerky, excellent job. A friend has had one for 10 years and still going strong. I didn’t find out he had the same one until we compared notes on how he made his jerky.

Efficient and easy to use. We dried bunches of fruits and vegetables. It has a lot of power and gets the job done quick. We may have shortened the lifespan of out last one by running it outside to dry habanero, jalapeno, cayenne, and ghost peppers because it got cold outside at night. We just couldn’t stop our eyes from burning inside. Best to shut it off and restart in the morning. We had the first one for over 5 or 6 years and it always performed great.

The Nesco Snackmaster works very good. The only thing I don’t like is that, you can’t see the meat unless you take the lid off, and it doesn’t have an on and off switch, but that is a good thing, I guess, because not one there to tare up. It runs quiet for a dehydrator. I have four dehydrators, I really like this one. I would recommend it.

I have used this dehydrator numerous times to make beef jerky. It produced great tasting jerky every time.Since I prepared the jerky in various thicknesses each time, there was no need for a timer on this model. Similarly, as I checked the jerky every couple hours, there was no need for an on off switch. The higher wattage was a real plus in shortening the drying time.

I had bought one of these about 3 years ago, and I use it regularly, but not heavily. I found it so useful that I bought one for a friend for Christmas!

Easy to use. Easy to clean. Really nice having the electronic dehydrator part on Top instead of the bottom makes for easier cleaning

I’ve just used it for beef jerky, and it does the job OK. I read somewhere that beef jerkey requires heating to 160 degrees F is required for sanitary safety, and the SP 600 is the least expensive unit I found that claimed it could do that. On the downside, the allignment tabs for stacking are small, and a little bump can disarrange them. There’s no temperature gauge, so you never really know the actual operating temperature. I wish it had an on-off switch – I don’t like using the wall plug for opening a live circuit. It seems these functions could be added cheaply, and still keep the price under $100. The trays and shields are (so far) easy to clean.All-in-all, it works fine, and does the job at a reasonable price. I’m satisfied.

The dehydrator was given as a gift to my son-in-law. He has used it to dehydrate fruit. He thought it did an outstanding job!

I have made beef jerky twice on this dehydrator since I purchased it and it has done a fantastic job of drying. The jerky has come out very flavorful and not too dry, very good texture and the flavor was great. I am looking forward to drying fruits and vegetables for future use. This is a really great dehydrator and I would surely recommend it to anyone looking to dehydrate and dry food. Great item!

The temperature on this machine is uncanny. We used a thermometer to test for accuracy. We had the machine set for 115 degrees and the thermometer registered exactly that on the top tray as well as the bottom. We have used it exclusively for drying nuts, and it has done an excellent job.Love it!Arlie

Great product! Had one before and loved it but I used it so much, I had to retire it and get a new one!
