The AC600 Wi-Fi USB Mini Adapter from Netgear adds dual-band Wi-Fi support to just about any laptop running Microsoft Windows XP or better. Boasting Wi-Fi speeds up to 150 Mb/s (over the 2.4 GHz wireless band) or 433 Mb/s (over 5 GHz), the compact AC600 Wi-Fi Mini-Adapter plugs into an available USB 1.1 or 2.0 port. Designed to work with most Wi-Fi routers, the AC600 Wi-Fi USB Mini Adapter supports push-button setup with WPS-enabled routers, or you use the included setup CD.

I was surprised to discover a refurbished computer I purchased did not come with a WiFi connection. This simple device solved the problem but it did not give me the strongest connection. I had to use a WiFi booster to get a workable connection. Works as advertised and was very reasonable in price.

Initially the product worked fine but a few days later I was unable to connect to the internet. The associated software that I uploaded via the disc that was included was outdated. I contacted NetGear for support and was unsuccessful resolving the issue. I returned the product and purchased and up to date WIFi USB adapter.

opened box, directions said insert install CDvideo, no CD in box. went to your website, connected USB to desktop, loaded install software, your adapter did not work, 18 hours of your tech support did not help, finally disconnected adapter, di the uninstall, remove all files, rebooted desktop, reinstalled install software and connected USB adapter when software called for, works great now, your install genie has a option to check for upgrade, it does not work, downloads to 20% and stalls, your adapter is a piece of junk!

Good enough for web browsing but if you want to game or stream video it’s no where close to what you need.
