Dual band technology helps to reduce interference for improved connections to Wi-Fi devices and allows users to connect to networks supporting 5 and 2.4 GHz frequencies. The 5 GHz frequency supports 802.11a/n and allows compatible devices to take advantage of data transfer speeds of up to 867 Mbps for HD video streaming and online gaming. The 2.4 GHz frequency supports 802.11b/g/n and provides data transfer speeds of up to 300 Mbps, allowing users to engage in less-intensive web tasks, such as web browsing. The 5 GHz frequency also supports 802.11ac, allowing users to benefit from connectivity speeds of up to 1200 Mbps.
For those who are concerned about this USB Wi-Fi adapter not having a strong range, the AC1200 has been designed for use in large homes and features high gain antennas for improved performance. Beamforming+ technology is also integrated into this adapter and helps to further boost speed, range, and reliability. Push ‘N’ Connect helps to create secure push button Wi-Fi connections (WPS) and Netgear genie dashboard controls help to connect a Wi-Fi device to your home network.
This Wi-Fi USB 3.0 adapter is compatible with Pentium class systems running 64 and 32-bit editions of Windows 8, 7, Vista, and XP. Although a USB 3.0 port is recommended, this adapter is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. Included with the AC1200 Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter is a USB cable with a desktop dock.

Will not stay connected for longer than a few hours, to just a few seconds. I know the issue is not with my wifi itself as i can connect on multiple devices with no problem. Driver updates and software downloads do not fix the problem. Resorted to using a very old, tiny little wifi antenna that has never had any issues, and is still the case. Do not buy this atrocious product, its a waste of money.

Splendid invention made by such a brilliant mastermind I say with a gentle titter. I am genuine nonetheless. It’s easy to use although I had to read the manual a couple times fore I am just not very tech savvy. I am still very well liking the net gear device nonetheless. Would recommend.

Setup wasnt as easy as I would have liked. Also really not sure how much this actually even helped, honestly could not tell a difference from when it was in use versus not in use. Is a good idea but again I’m not sure that I can say this made and difference unfortunately.

I needed one of these to use for one of my laptops at home for stronger wifi connection and it worked like a charm! It was very easy to install just by hooking it up into your USB port and walked through the steps. It significantly improved the WIFI connection I was receiving prior to having it. It even have excellent range to where I’m even able to get high speed internet working on my balcony and garage! I highly recommend!

My upload speed is very limited like most of the Comcast users, and it takes a long time to back up my files to cloud accounts. This device cannot handle long upload sessions. I am guessing it is because of the excess heat, every 15-20 minutes the device becomes unresponsive. I have to physically reconnect the device to have internet back. I went through various forums and tried every trick they suggested, but nothing works. It is pretty fast for regular internet usage that involves mostly downstream data (browsing, streaming, software updates). Worthless if you need to upload.

I bought this today and it was useless. You Total waste of money! I couldn’t set it up using my Mac or any iOS device. When I set it up to my PC it made my internet even worse. I used it on my console and the internet became even slower.
