Using its USB 3.0 port, connect your Windows-compatible desktop or notebook computer to dual band 802.11ac wireless networks, as well as 802.11a/b/g/n networks with the AC1200 Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter from Netgear. Dual band technology helps to reduce interference for improved connections to Wi-Fi devices and allows users to connect to networks supporting 5 and 2.4 GHz frequencies. The 5 GHz frequency supports 802.11a/n and allows compatible devices to take advantage of data transfer speeds of up to 867 Mbps for HD video streaming and online gaming. The 2.4 GHz frequency supports 802.11b/g/n and provides data transfer speeds of up to 300 Mbps, allowing users to engage in less-intensive web tasks, such as web browsing. The 5 GHz frequency also supports 802.11ac, allowing users to benefit from connectivity speeds of up to 1200 Mbps.
For those who are concerned about this USB Wi-Fi adapter not having a strong range, the AC1200 has been designed for use in large homes and features high gain antennas for improved performance. Beamforming+ technology is also integrated into this adapter and helps to further boost speed, range, and reliability. Push ‘N’ Connect helps to create secure push button Wi-Fi connections (WPS) and Netgear genie dashboard controls help to connect a Wi-Fi device to your home network.
This Wi-Fi USB 3.0 adapter is compatible with Pentium class systems running 64 and 32-bit editions of Windows 8, 7, Vista, and XP. Although a USB 3.0 port is recommended, this adapter is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. Included with the AC1200 Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter is a USB cable with a desktop dock.

I’m very happy with this adapter. Was quick & easy to set up.I like that it comes with a stand making it ideal for the spacing of the USB ports. It only sticks out as far as a flash drive so I can fully extend it for maximum reception. My signal is better and my connection is smoother and more stable.

I got this for Christmas for myself and the speeds were good until about a month and then I would constantly get unstable connection and I know it isn’t my internet because I have plenty of other devices with internal wifi or wired through ethernet this is the only device I have problems with.

This little gadget is super helpful. Are use this Wi-Fi adapter on an older laptop of mine that tends to struggle with connection and not have the best speed. This Wi-Fi adapter really helps extend the Wi-Fi and helps my computer speed things up a little bit more and I believe it is because of the Wi-Fi adapter that I am now able to navigate the Internet faster and with more ease.

I have been struggling with this adapter for the past several months. It took me a minute to find the drivers needed to make it work properly. Then I had to go in and try and change some of the adapters settings in order for my wifi not to drop at random times. Now after 4 months, its having troubles being found as a device.

I like how I can use this USB adapter for an extension. For example I would use the Ethernet cable to connect a DVD player to the computer and when I make a bridge connection with the Wi-Fi adapter already on the computer, I can then use the Netgear USB adapter and use the mobile hotspot on the computer and choose to share my internet connection from netgear USB Wi-Fi adapter that’s connected to the internet. I like it.

I’ve had a lot of disconnection issues with it. Never understood why. Also only comes with an installation disc. You’d think they would include some small storage USB drive with the drivers included these days, or have the drivers within the adapter.

Set up was super easy with the provided disc. Like that it comes with an extra stand so it isn’t hanging out the side of my laptop when I’m using it at work.
