Using its USB 3.0 port, connect your Windows-compatible desktop or notebook computer to dual band 802.11ac wireless networks, as well as 802.11a/b/g/n networks with the AC1200 Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter from Netgear. Dual band technology helps to reduce interference for improved connections to Wi-Fi devices and allows users to connect to networks supporting 5 and 2.4 GHz frequencies. The 5 GHz frequency supports 802.11a/n and allows compatible devices to take advantage of data transfer speeds of up to 867 Mbps for HD video streaming and online gaming. The 2.4 GHz frequency supports 802.11b/g/n and provides data transfer speeds of up to 300 Mbps, allowing users to engage in less-intensive web tasks, such as web browsing. The 5 GHz frequency also supports 802.11ac, allowing users to benefit from connectivity speeds of up to 1200 Mbps.
For those who are concerned about this USB Wi-Fi adapter not having a strong range, the AC1200 has been designed for use in large homes and features high gain antennas for improved performance. Beamforming+ technology is also integrated into this adapter and helps to further boost speed, range, and reliability. Push ‘N’ Connect helps to create secure push button Wi-Fi connections (WPS) and Netgear genie dashboard controls help to connect a Wi-Fi device to your home network.
This Wi-Fi USB 3.0 adapter is compatible with Pentium class systems running 64 and 32-bit editions of Windows 8, 7, Vista, and XP. Although a USB 3.0 port is recommended, this adapter is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. Included with the AC1200 Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter is a USB cable with a desktop dock.

I am so happy I received this it works well and boosts the signal. I would recommend to anyone, it is well worth the price. In these trying times, it is a good idea to get if you have children at home.

I had to move into an older house where the Router was in my roomates room across the house so I couldn’t use an Ethernet cord. I eventually found this wifi adapter to use on my personal PC for gaming and work and I almost don’t even notice a difference between it and Ethernet. I’m still able to have consistent quality wifi with no interruption for work or gaming. Highly recommend this product.

This is one of the easiest adapters to set up. Once connected to my home Wi-Fi, I now get maximum speeds all of the time.

After months of my internet (to my pc) giving me trouble (disconnect suddenly or not connect when pc was turned on), I was not certain that it was the adapter (all diagnostics said it was working fine) or my pc…I bought this adapter, followed the directions on the CD and have not had any trouble since. I was definitely thankful that it was only the adapter (which I had had for 10 years!)

The last NETGEAR adapter we had finally died. I have no idea how old it was. Bought this one and it works great!

I deployed these to more than 200 desktop users when the Covid farce happened and they all went home to work… not one of them has had any issues in 5 months… I dont know what the bad review are talking about but it sounds like theres might be the installer?… just saying. These are straight up WYSIWYG… what you see is what you get… a wifi adapter that works all the dang time. WTG Netgear, you hit a home run on this one. P.S. in case you are wondering we used them at about 75% in the cradle and 25% out of the cradle… amazing product.

quick, easy setup. very mobile, and versatile for multiple types of devices, workstation, laptop, tablet, etc. I like the Netgear tool that came with the adapter, showing the actual connection speed for each of the bnd connections.

after 2 hours of trying to install including updating firmware. adjusting settings to ensure that 5ghz only was used and trying to force AC standard, I had to return the adapter to the shop for a refund. My old adapter worked perfectly well before and after the attempt with Netgear at 866.7 speed, so parameters of the router are correct. No problems with Firewall nor other interference from other drivers, since I deinstalled them. Disappointing

I’m actually super happy that I got this. My wifi is good but not great. I live in a basement apartment so the concrete walls sometimes creates interference. With this little adapter my wifi is super strong. It’s easy to set up – you just gotta plug it in the USB port and it basically runs itself. I used it with my older MacBook and it worked fine.

I was running 1GB ethernet and switched back to wireless after my wife got tired of having a cat 6 wire on the floor and I have not noticed any drop in performance or connectivity. This unit is great.

Been chasing around for months with some very knowledgeable people as to why my upload speeds were so slow. Then connection drops started happening regularly. Finally some one suggested wifi adapter could be the problem. The Netgear A6210 adapter restored my computer to new computer performance.Very pleased.

This is one of the best adapter I’ve seen, and it’s very portable. But the software constantly eats over 50% of my cpu usage, and sometimes it will crash on Windows 8.1. It also seems I can’t disable Roam Tendency, and it will always switch to another weaker AP. (Even if I add filter on the router, it will still try to connect and end up disconnecting)

Needed more strength for my laptop wifi signal. This antenna is the best.
